Sad that we didn't take Mugabe out years ago, rather than watch as he steadily ruined the country. Strange thing is that most other African leaders seem to support him!

Sheeeeeeeeesh, the Brits built Rhodesia and made it what it was. Mugabe came along with lots of promises, just like the rest of the, so called "Freedom Fighters" of Africa. The other African leaders won't say anything against him because they are doing, or are going to do, the exact same thing to their country as soon as they can. It will be interesting to see what happens to South Africa when Nelson Mandela dies. Whaddayamean, you can't trust the Brits????? Have you seen pictures of Mugabe's subjects lately? Has anybody traveled Zimbabwe lately and come out of it alive? Where do you have to go to if you want to see the Victoria Falls these days. Going through the Caprivi Strip in Namibia is nail-biting and getting there via Zimbabwe is non-negotiable, unless somebody else can tell me otherwise. You got to go there via Zambia, if my memory serves me correct. - The US had a Brits problem too, and kicked them out a while back.
- Vic falls? fly to livingstone?
- Sad part is all the people in SAfrica from Zim that are waiting for things to "change" so they can "go home".

I love Brits
but they have left a lot of countries.
Easy to get to Vic Falls
And a lot of people are waiting to go "home" to ZIm and also Cuba etc.

The British Empire essentially ended quite a while ago (well, they do still "own" the BVI and a few other small properties). But they're not involved in the sort of activity described in the article (that sounds more in the style of the US). This sounds like Mugabe's paranoia or an attempt to gain support by manufacturing some "threat" (imagine, the Brits being seen as a threat again).
