"Best Ever" Creamed Corn - 04/25/2009 07:11 PM

This is a recipe from a prime rib restaurant that used to be here in Southern California many years ago named Gullivers. The chef gave me this recipe and everyone who has eaten it has requested it! Enjoy...

Best Ever Creamed Corn - serves 8

2 pkgs (or 20 oz.) frozen kernel corn
8 ounces whipping cream
5 ounces milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon Accent
6 teaspoons sugar
1 or 2 pinches cayenne pepper

2 Tbsp melted butter
2 Tbsp flour

Combine all ingredients except last two in a pot and bring to a boil then down to simmer for 5 minutes or so. Blend the butter and flour together then add to the corn. Mix well and remove from heat. (If not thick enough for your liking after simmering with the flour/butter mixture, add a little more until the consistancy YOU like it...but remember it will thinken as it cools). **Can be easily doubled.
