Costa Concordia captain has been free pending trial for 3 years and it could be several more YEARS before he ever is ordered to jail. Sad..

Wasn't meant to be funny it was to point out how unjust the courts are.

Schettino really is unbelievable. I really thought that he had sunk as low as possible with his conduct at the time - to this day, I can barely digest the facts of how he left the ship. But then, to read what he said at his trial - http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-31430998 - that he could have risen to be the captain of a ship like the Concordia is utterly appalling and beyond comprehension.

OK, sorry I thought you meant it as a joke, but it was an unfortunate turn of phrase for this circumstance.
