Uniworld No refunds

Uniworld No refunds - 04/01/2020 05:42 PM

Uniworld has cancelled our May 4 Danube trip and they are offering several options for the future. None of the options include a refund. We were not going on the trip even if they did sail but had not yet cancelled. We were waiting to see what happened. It seems that since they have now cancelled that we should have the option of a full refund. It is a $9000 trip and would obviously prefer to have the money back so we have more flexibility for future planning. Does anyone have have any advice ? Thanks

If you paid with a credit card you might be able to get your money back from the card co. since Uniworld canceled (they didn't fulfill their part of the contract). That's where I would start.

Thank you. Capital One is usually very good about these things.

I agree that they usually work very well in the customer's (card holder's) behalf. If you don't mind, please let us know your progress with the issue. Many of us can be in a similar situation. I (and my Wife) have an Anniversary Cruise on RCCL Majesty of the Seas in August, and we aren't sure how things will be handled by them. We booked the Cruise for a very low fare in early January with a non-refundable deposit, so I am not sure how RCCL will handle that if things aren't back to some kind of normal in August..

I will let you know how this plays out. Since our trip was cancelled by Uniworld we may be in a different situation than you since yours has not yet been cancelled. As I understand it, most lines have offered refunds or full credits for the future if they cancel. Pay attention to the cancellation schedule in your contract. This is clearly a moving target but my understanding if that Royal Carrabean has been very customer friendly.

Yes, they are. However the only concern I have is the fact that the deposit we paid is/was listed as "Non-Refundable". If that has all changed due to Covid19, it remains to be seen. I'm sure they would at least allow it to be placed on a future Cruise. Good Luck in your situation, I hope you will be able to quickly get your refund.
