Guessing this was one of the lost threads. Email from Treasure Coast Naturists updated status of the beach after Milton;
BEACH UPDATE, TUESDAY, 10/15/24
We are sorry to report that the gates to Blind Creek Beach are again locked as of today, Tuesday 10/15/24. Apparently, they were opened on Saturday without authorization. The park remains closed until such time that the County can declare that it is safe for public use. Once that authorization occurs, the County will unlock the gates. The County hopes to have this done by the end of the week, but no promises.
As of 2pm today, the Sheriff's Department was removing people from the beach who had parked on A1A and walked in.
The County asks that beachgoers do not open the gate or damage the chain lock. They will reopen the gates when they've determined that it is safe to do so.
Thank you to everyone who came out over the weekend and assisted with the massive cleanup! Those efforts should go a long way in getting the beach reopened sooner than later.
We will continue to communicate with the County, and let you know as soon as we have an update.
Blind Creek is a clothing optional beach on Hutchinson Island near Ft. Pierce, FL Here is a link for info:
Link. We will be there for the month of November- sure hope it's reopened by then!
Thanks for re-posting. Hoping they will re-open soon.
UpdateNot looking good for the weekend
St. Lucie County posted a service interruption alert for St. Lucie County.
10h ·
St. Lucie County Parks crews worked late into the evening to reopen Blind Creek Beach and Walton Rocks Beach starting Saturday, Oct. 19.
However, White City Park remains closed due to high water levels from the King Tides and heavy rains from Hurricane Milton.
We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as many county crews have been diverted from their normal duties to assist with relief and recovery efforts from Hurricane Milton.

Blind Creek Beach is Open!
The gates to Blind Creek Beach were reopened on October 19th after the County determined the area was again safe for usage. Our thanks go out to St Lucie County Parks & Recreation for their work to restore the park. The parking lot has been regraded and is now in good shape. As for the beach itself, it was a bit narrow after the storms but is slowly coming back. However, we may still see a narrow beach due to king tides.
What are King Tides?
King Tides are exceptionally high tides that occur when the moon is closest to the earth and is either full or new. In Florida, King Tides are most common in the Fall, when seasonal factors like water temperature and currents cause sea levels to rise.
High King Tides are anticipated on these dates:
Oct 30 - Nov 4
Nov 13-18
Nov 29-30
Due to the higher-than-average tides, we may still see debris washing up on the beach. Why not make everyday beach cleanup day? Bring a trash bag when you visit and pick up any debris near your encampment. Our thanks to those beachgoers who regularly make a habit of keeping our beach the cleanest in the County!

Update from Treasure Coast Naturists on the renovations (hard to envison people hiking a mile south down the sidewalk along A1A!!!):
Update on the Parking Area Construction
The County posted this update today:
The parking area at Blind Creek Beach will be closed for renovations starting Monday, Jan. 6 and remain closed through mid-summer.
St. Lucie County’s Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department is launching a major renovation of the parking area to include restroom facilities at Blind Creek Beach - St. Lucie County’s only clothing-optional beach. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by July 2025.
While the parking area is closed, the beach will remain open for pedestrian traffic. Beachgoers, who wish to continue to use Blind Creek Beach, can access the designated clothing-optional section by parking at the Little Mud Creek parking lot, 5460 S Ocean Drive, and proceeding south along the sidewalk on A1A to a temporary beach access entrance or access that from the beachside.
New Year's Day Polar Bare Plunge is Happening!
Join us on the beach on New Year's Day for our annual Polar Bare Plunge. We will jump into the water together at 12 noon!
This is an informal event - no head count or bracelets - just a fun way to start the new year off with like-minded friends. Hope to see you there!
The latest while construction in the main parking area is in progress:
Unfortunately there is no main entrance at this time. The closest entrance is just to the North of the main which is the nature trail entrance. You can park in the grass along A1A then have to walk the distance on the trail from A1A to the beach access to the North of the main access.
(there is also parking a mile north at the Mud Creek lot, NOT along the concrete wall, take the path in from there and walk south on the beach a ways):
Chuck--at the moment, Florida is cold as h*ll, so I doubt anyone is using the beach there right now. Hopefully it will warm up soon. It has been very cold all year so far.
The walk about .7 of a mile from Little Mud Parking lot to a path at Blind Creek, then the trek east to the beach. I’m betting A1A will be filled with shoulder parkers like they do when Blind Creek lot fills up.
While we are fit, the idea of a mile walk is a big detriment to going. The thought of dragging chair cart on the sand for any length is also a downer.
I liked BC Beach as is but the lot was like Club O road or worse after the last few months rain. Need to buy shocks after every trip. But they could just grade it instead of asphalt imho
Carol, yep, feel sorry for folks wanting the beach this week! TJ, I think a person would be fine just walking the short distance to the beach at Mud Creek (turn right at the boat ramp), heading south a hundred yards or so and plopping down there.
At Blind creek we plop down as close to beach entry point as possible. So if we entered at little mud beach, wed walk 10 yards south, set up and plead ignorance as to where the Au naturelle part started. 100 yards is like a football field
Agree you should be fine. No signs so a good excuseI said 100 yds so it would be less likely that a fisherman might complain. Might as well give them space.
Update from TCN:
Parking During Construction
The main parking lot of Blind Creek Beach is now closed for paving and the construction of restrooms and showers. The lot is expected to be closed until sometime in July. In the meantime, the County has instructed us to park one mile north in the Mud Creek parking area. From there, we can walk down the sidewalk to the gated path to the beach; or we can access the beach near the Mud Creek boat ramp and then walk down the sand to the clothing-optional area. The walk from Mud Creek to the clothing-optional area is approximately 3/4 mile. Please observe the "No Parking" areas when parking at Mud Creek.
Those are the County's instructions, and we encourage you to follow them.
Many people have opted to park on A1A near the gated path. While the County has thus far tolerated this practice, please be warned that the deputies have issued tickets to people who were parked mere inches into the bike lane. DO NOT PARK ON THE BIKE LANE OR ON THE SIDEWALK or you risk receiving a citation.
Please SLOW DOWN when driving through this area of A1A. The speed limit is 55 mph, and we are aware of at least TWO ACCIDENTS that have occurred involving cars that were parked on the shoulder. Please drive and park safely!
Thanks for the update. Sounds like the walk would be too much for me personally. Not a very convenient parking situation at all..
Carol, I don't have personal knowledge of the situation now but I would think that folks and beach equipment could be dropped off at the temporary path just north of the Blind Creek main lot, then the driver could go park farther north. It's a short walk directly to the beach on the temporary path, I do know that.
The path, wide enough for a bulldozer is 99% level cut grass surrounded by lush jungle. It is a 5 minute walk to dune entry. That part is as wide as a large shopping cart. We have chairs that fold up to make a two wheel beach cart. Very easy if walking with just a towel or with an easy to pull cart. The narrower dune sand path i would guess is about 50 feet. It is easy finding a place to plop down after reaching the beach. We dont go far. But you the nude beach is probably a mile long, so if you want seclusion you can find it.
No portapotties. Just garbage cans at A1A
Parking along A1A is plentiful on both sides. The eastern side of road has a wide asphalt bike path. So you can walk, pull a cart easily down that path to the jungle walk to the beach. Yes, you could pull over, unload, and park further down A1A to reduce the walk.
These two products make beach days painless. The chair makes a cart that tackles sand with minimum pull effort. The sunshade is so light.
https://macsports.com/products/beac...JsfbSiwMVA0r_AR0trxenEAAYASAAEgJlrPD_BwEhttps://shibumishade.com/
TJ, thanks for the parking info and cart tip. Have seen those wheeled lounger carts before somewhere. Might be nice for the present parking situation. Worth mentioning again to avoid parking even a little on the bike path or you might get a ticket.
Very true. There is grass on both sides of A1A and your car must be off the road, off the shoulder and in the grass. And finally, NOT on the asphalt bike path. St Lucie County Sheriff will right tickets.
They clearly aren’t forcing people to park .7 of a mile in Little Mud parking lot and making the trek either down A1A or down the beach.
The parking lot was like club O’s road when it needed paving. Probably worse. It looks like they have cleared out all the trees and fences and will have more parking. They might as well double or triple their plan (like they would in Texas) because more and more people come every week. It is the new Club O which is where a lot of nudists we’ve met fist shed their suit.
If they put a food truck in this new lot. Katie bar the door.
The latest from TCN
DO NOT PARK IN THE BIKE LANE OR ON THE SIDEWALK ON A1A
We've been asked by the Sheriff's Department to pass this message to our beachgoers. Many people have been parking on A1A and blocking either the sidewalk or the bike lane. This is not permitted and creates a hazard. If you park on A1A, please be sure that your tires are not touching the sidewalk or the bike lane. The Sheriff's Department has stated that they will have no choice but to ticket and/or tow any cars that are parked illegally. Your cooperation is appreciated!
It's going from bad to worse!
We're issuing the bi-monthly newsletter a few days early to provide the latest update on the parking situation at Blind Creek Beach.
Beachgoers are no longer permitted to park on A1A.
Effective Thursday, February 27th, the County has erected "No Parking" signs on A1A between the Blind Creek and Mud Creek parking lots. Beachgoers can no longer park on the road. The original instructions received from the County will be enforced: We are directed to park in the Mud Creek parking area. From there, we can walk down the sidewalk to the gated path to the beach; or we can access the beach near the Mud Creek boat ramp and then walk down the sand to the clothing-optional area. The walk from Mud Creek to the clothing-optional area is approximately 3/4 mile. As a reminder, the clothing-optional area starts north of the lookout tower near the gated path and goes south to the FPL property line. Please observe the "No Parking" areas when parking at Mud Creek.
Unfortunately, we were also advised today that the re-opening date for the main parking lot has been pushed out to approximately September 2025.
Looks like a very tough summer.
Well, it was wet yesterday in the grass on both sides of A1A, so almost everybody kept 2 of their wheels on the pavement. The shoulder is about 3 feet. So, if cars take up 1-2 feet of that shoulder, there is no shoulder. It starts to border on unsafe. Cars are whipping by at 55+.
The Mud Creek lot will fill in an instant and cars will have no choice but to leave or A1A. The majority of people will plop down at the Mud Creek beach entrance.
It will cut down on the less able bodied ability to visit.
September?????? Need to get DOGE in there. The lot is cleared. Call the asphalt trucks.
Yep, sucks for sure. Either get there really early if you want to park at Mud Creek, car pool or bring a bike and park at Waldon Rocks or Middle Cove 2.4 mi north or south and ride back. IMHO if they are going to prohibit parking on A1A they should provide shuttle buses from those lots. OR keep the A1A parking and lower the friggin speed limit through there to 25 until September
Yesterday (Saturday), my wife and I drove south on A1A past Blind Creek Beach. The Mud Creek parking lot seemed pretty full. There was an electronic sign between Mud Creek and the pedestrian access to Blind Creek that stated simply "No Parking". As we got closer to Blind Creek pedestrian access there were many, many (75 to 100) cars parked on the west side of A1A. There were no tickets visible, and no tow trucks in the area. There was no sign on the northbound side of A1A and no cars parked on that side.
Today (a Monday), we found the same sign and maybe 30 or so cars parked on the west side of A1A. No cars parked on the east side of A1A which now has No Parking signs on metals posts every so many feet that say “No parking anytime”. No tickets seen on windows.
We decided to park at Little Mud parking lot. From the lot it’s a little walk to the trail which is ok to pull a cart on. Say a few minutes walk. You pass multiple signs which tell you “No Nudity at Little Mud beach”.
AND THEN, you approach a narrow, sand hill trail with what looks to be at least 15 feet of elevation. Maybe 20. Our beach carts have never been a problem but out was no fun pulling them up this hill to the beach.
Once on the beach it was pretty deserted. We dragged our carts a lot further than we ever do at the old and newer Blind Creek entrance until we saw the first nudists. We plopped down and set up becoming the new closest nudists.
It was a good day but I doubt we will do that again often. Had a bit too much chore associated with it. Juice not worth the squeeze feel.
We will probably park on west side of A1A and if that becomes impossible, we will probably turn Textile.
We drove by the construction area. Doesn’t look much different except some large concrete pipes, sewer I guess. Seems like a huge waste of money. They could have easily put a septic field out there.
Ill bet however many parking spots they put in will be 1/4 what they will need long-term.
Some bad news/good news on the construction. It's been on hold for a while due to Indian remains being found from the digging. The good news is (from a friend on the TCN board):
"I just found out that St. Lucie County got the archeological permit to continue work on BCB parking lot, so that's a bit of good news. Hopefully they start up again soon.."
So no new date for completion but probably later than September now. We are hoping that it will be done in time for our stay there in November.
From TCN:
Update on the Parking Lot Construction
Apparently, something of archeological interest was discovered during the initial demolition phase of the parking area, causing construction to halt until an archeological survey and permit were obtained.Per today's Blind Creek Construction Progress Meeting, the contractor is remobilizing this week and will resume construction next week. The contractor will be working closely with the archeological monitoring team to re-establish a new construction schedule. Unfortunately, they won't know for sure what the projects new estimated date of completion will be until the contractor and the monitoring team have worked together for a few weeks to establish the pace that it will take to work under these archeological monitoring requirements. Once we know more in a few weeks, I will pass the info along."
We will continue to update you as soon as we have more information.
In the meantime, beachgoers may continue to park at the Little Mud lot. No parking is permitted on Ocean Drive (A1A).
We hope it's done for our March 2026 trip!
We certainly missed it this year!
Time flies it has been 4 weeks since we went back……..the lugging of gear to/from little Mud is a deterrent for us. Im a minority, but I would rather they just made the existing sand lot three times as big and graded it now and again.
We did visit Sunnier Palms for the first time in a long while. They are recovering from the traumatic Tornado hit fairly well. It was nice to see pool/hot tub area up and running and campground full of RVs and tent campers.
Latest update on construction will not be finished until the end of December 2025!
Sand is usually flat and easy to dig trenches and bury pipe and re-level. America has been laying blacktop for over a century. The equipment exists in Florida. Florida builders can build the walls for a concrete block house within a week.
The old parking lot was bumpy after awhile but closing the beach access for a year to pave a parking lot is county government buffoonery.
They will get those baths built just in time for a hurricane storm surge to turn this job into a 2 year closure…….or even if they get it done…the storm will come some year in the future and close the beach for a year.
Haven't seen that beach in 3 months now.
Report from the beach near Mud Creek lot, busy as usual
Description: Beach near Mud Creek lot
If the weather is anything like here, almost too hot to enjoy the beach. Mid 90s every day.
Usually a breeze there, at least.
Good news- at last a date! Just in time for our trip there in November:
The new date for substantial completion on the project is November 2, 2025. The Park will open shortly thereafter.
Thank you,
Daniel Finz | Capital Projects & Construction Division Manager | Parks and Recreation Department
Thanks.
I hope they exceed my expectations which aren’t high.
May make a visit soon to see “the progress”. If I don't see concrete block structure or asphalt, I cant imagine what they have been doing all summer.
Maybe they will dazzle me.
Let us know what you find. I suggested that they could PLEASE at least open the lot for parking and then finish the bathhouse. Hoping that happens.
A friend took some pics yesterday. Looks like curbing and sidewalks are in but still paving?! Good thing that highways are built a little faster!

I've been on TTOL and still don't know any easier way of posting pics other than uploading somewhere and creating links, etc. Laborious. Am I missing it?
Hi. You can upload pictures directly to your post. Just click on USE FULL EDITOR. Then below the post box, click on ATTACHMENT MANAGER and upload your photos.
OK thanks Carol/Eric, should have remembered that! A suggestion that would help forgetful folks like me, can you put the attachment link at the top of the box like the others?
Here is an advisory from TCN:
SHERIFF ACTIVITY AT THE BEACH
The patrol captain from the St Lucie County Sheriff's office called us today. She said there have been several complaints about nudity at Little Mud. The deputies have now been instructed by Sheriff Del Toro to go out onto the beach twice a day and tell people they need to move. If the situation persists, they will be taking stronger action which could include citations. The captain was unable to tell me what "stronger action" would look like, but the Sheriff is consulting with the County Attorney to see what action can be taken. The captain's call to us was a courtesy heads-up message. She asked that we spread this to our beachgoers so that we can avoid things getting ugly.
PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING!
On the positive side, we were told by Parks & Recreation that the parking area may be opening as early as November. Let's hope that's the case!
Thanks for the Blind Creek updates. My wife and I have only been there one time so far, and looking forward to additional visits.
Perhaps Sheriff Del Toro and his deputies could help build the parking lot and bathrooms twice a day.
TCN & BLIND CREEK BEACH HAPPENINGS
No Nudity at Little Mud Beach
As we reported a couple of weeks ago, the Sheriff's Department called and gave us warning that they are going to start enforcing the no nudity policy at Little Mud beach. They've advised us that beachgoers need to walk south to the designated clothing-optional section. For those who asked exactly where that is, it's about 3/4 mile south of the Little Mud trailhead.
We don't know what caused the recent crackdown by the Sheriff's Department, but this is where we find ourselves today. We don't want to see anyone get arrested or cited; and we don't want to ruin the good relationship we've always had with County officials. The nudists are currently being perceived as a nuisance, and this kind of negative attention is not good for our cause.
We are asking you, please, to take this request seriously. Please do not go nude outside of the designated clothing-optional area. If we ever have hope of asking for an expansion of the clothing-optional area in the future, we need to restore and maintain our good standing with the County.
On the bright side, we've been told the parking lot construction should be completed sometime in November! We will keep you updated when we have more information.
Here is a photo of the entrance from last Monday, 10/6. Not an expert but looks like the gravel base is down prior to paving! X=crossed fingers.
http://bobsbarricades.com/I see Bobs Barricades got the Job for Blind Creek.
In Asia, they would have completed 15 beach parking lots in this timeframe. I guess by waiting this long to pave everyone could say it survived one hurricane season.
It looks fancy. I dont see any big shower house or restrooms from this view.
I cant wait to see if the vibes changes with striped parking lots versus the wild west grass lots. Will we be allowed to park on A1A like we have for years when the lot fills up? I doubt it, govt never takes down a no parking sign.
I heard rumors that the parking may be open earlier than December e.g. mid-Nov. Hope so.
Update from TCN:
UPDATE ON THE PARKING AREA CONSTRUCTION
We received an update from St Lucie County Parks & Recreation today. Although the contractor has been granted a few extra days due to weather, the park is still slated to be reopened sometime in November!
They explained that the standing water is not a concern. That section of the lot doesn't have base rock or subgrade yet, so the water is not reaching the curb.
The utility stub outs for the restroom are already installed. The building is prefabricated, so will go in quickly once it's delivered.
We've been asked to please alert our members not to cross the “Park Closed” and “Construction Zone” signs that have been placed there.
We will update you again in a few weeks. We're almost there (hopefully)!
King Tides, Supermoon, and Storms
It's that time of year again when high king tides erode the beaches. Add a supermoon and storms in the Atlantic and we've got quite a mess on our hands. Things are very wet and muddy on Hutchinson Island and there is a lot of debris washing up. We've always been the ones who keep our beach clean. You can help by bringing a bag and picking up debris whenever you are on the beach. Please do not leave your bag of trash on the beach; please take it home or put it in a county receptacle. Thanks to everyone who helps keep our beach clean!
REMINDER - NO NUDITY AT LITTLE MUD BEACH
Putting in palm trees!
Tried to fight back my cynicism and not post, but couldnt.
Somehow I cant help but think this pavement/construction wont help the cause of nudism on the treasure coast, especially if there aren't more net parking spaces.
Glad to hear the bathrooms are prefab.
My crystal ball sees a prefab parking payment gate coming like Haulover. I would have just cleared more trees to add more spots and add 10 port a potties.
If they make showers in the textile zone, who is going to cover up at beach to walk to them, then disrobe again, and re-textile to go to car.
Now, if they do put in a gate at A1A and allow you to disrobe at the car that would be a winner IMHO.
The first few weeks after opening are going to be a free for all. Everyone will now have to walk from Little Mud or get there at 6am.
For sure parking will be tough on weekends after 8 or 9. But seems to me that there might still be enough parking for most weekdays, at least until mid-morning and especially after the first few weeks.
We might do the shower thing if we were going out to dinner or something but that's all. Too bad they won't be right on the beach like at Haulover. Mucho more civilized.
Screenshot of a CBS news report today on Blind Creek. Good news: parking lot looking good. Bad news: they arrested 6 sad folks for being naked too close to Mud Creek (even though there are no signs saying where the nude beach starts)
TCN is getting them a lawyer(s) to fight it. For now I would head down south from Mud until you get to other nekkid folk. No way to be sure without a sign. It's on the news down here:
LINK We will be down there tomorrow for all of Nov. so will give updates on status of the parking lot.
Update from TCN just now:
ARRESTS AT LITTLE MUD
Please be advised that the Sheriff has cracked down on nudity near the Little Mud entry pathway to the beach. On Saturday, October 25th, 6 people were arrested near Little Mud just for being nude outside of the clothing-optional area. They were escorted off the beach and handcuffed. They were charged with Indecent Exposure of Sexual Organs. Then the Sheriff's Department posted their pictures on their social media accounts. This was picked up by the local media and made it onto the evening news.
Do not let this happen to you!
The clothing-optional area is 3/4 south of the Little Mud parking area. We urge our beachgoers to heed this warning and stay within the designated clothing-optional area.
If you know anyone who was involved in these arrests, please have them contact us by emailing treasurecoastnaturists@gmail.com
TCN & BLIND CREEK BEACH HAPPENINGS
ARRESTS AT LITTLE MUD
In case you missed our last bulletin... Six people were arrested last Saturday and another two on Wednesday for being nude at Little Mud. They were charged with violation of FSS 800.03: Indecent Exposure of Sexual Organs. Their pictures appeared on the Sheriff's social media sites and then on the local television news. This is horrible publicity for Blind Creek Beach and nude beaches in general.
Please do not get nude at Little Mud! Walk 3/4 mile south to the clothing-optional section.
Update on the Parking Area Construction
The latest update from the county is that they expect to reopen the parking area approximately December 1st
===========================================
We are here now, haven't looked at the parking area yet. Just took the short walk to the beach at Little Mud. Dressed of course. Walked halfway down the beach toward Blind Creek and saw many people in the distance, passed only one naked guy lounging where we turned around. Talked to a sheriff's deputy who said he is patrolling Little Mud 3-4 times per day. He has done under cover too. It's a long walk on the sand, we'll probably walk up the sidewalk to the legal zone. Hoping the damn lot opens sooner than 12/1!!
YOU KNOW, IVE NEVER SEEN ANYBODY ON THE BEACH AT LITTLE MUD. THE ONLY PEOPLE I SEE IN THE LOT ARE BOATERS USING THE RAMP AND A FEW FISHERMEN IN THE CREEK. THE COUNTY CREATED THIS PROBLEM. THEY SHOULD HAVE JUST CLOSED BLIND CREEK UNTIL THEY COULD GET A 2 MONTH JOB DONE.
THE NET RESULT WILL BE NO REAL GAIN IN PARKING LOT SPACES, SHOWERS ILL NEVER USE AND THE LOSS OF THE A1A PARKING WE HAVE USED FOR YEARS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM FROM THE GOVERNMENT. AND WEIRDOS HANGING OUT IN THE BUILDINGS. SHERIFF BETTER HAVE TWO DEPUTIES ( 1 MALE, 1 FEMALE) WITH A DESK INSIDE THE LATRINES.
SORRY FOR THE CAPS BUT I WAS ON A ROLL.
No comment. Attached is a photo of the parking lot today showing that the paving has begun. I was there at 9AM and a total of 2 people were on the beach.
This is the site plan, I improved its resolution but lettering is still undecipherable. It shows the bathhouse near the entrance.

It looks fancy. Crazy they have to pay for palm trees when it was a jungle that had its own. Maybe they could have dug them up and moved them. Govt contract prices I'm sure.
The old lot was almost always at its inexact capacity, so hopefully more cars can be accommodated with curbs and stripes.
On another note, 3 more people were arrested.
There have been naredowells there from the beginning on the trails and with their beach screening up and we have not seen an arrest once. Have seen the Sheriff in the lot keeping an eye on people on the trails.
I suspect they will have to devote more taxpayer time and money monitoring this lot, the restrooms, and A1A parking. And little mud violators.
Went to SXM in July/Aug, multiple trips to the Cove. BCB is not inviting at the movement.
Thanks for the good picture though. 1000 words worth.
I think it will be tight parking on weekends for sure! Get there early! I did notice a provision for future additional parking off the NW corner of the lot, see attached.
Yeah, a follow on project and accompanying closure….hope not.
Ft Pierce is supposedly going to try and charge to park at places that have been free for decades and their restrooms can be gross along seaway. St Lucie will need revenue to seal coat and restripe and fix the commodes and urinals. And oh what will happen after a cat 1 storm or worse.
Im a fan of primitive sand and less govt if you hadn’t picked that up.
Here's what we need
We were there on Friday and I took this pic of the parking lot with our bob-tailed coon heading over to the picnic table where the workers were having lunch. They said "another month". I did hear a rumor of a "soft opening" on Thanksgiving. Which makes sense since the official opening date for the new parking lot is 12/1 and the 26th is the last working day of the month. By "soft" perhaps they mean before the bathhouse is finished. Would be nice if they had porta-potties there like before. Most of the first asphalt coat looks to be done, one more to go.
Paving is in high gear it seems. Here is a pic of the entrance from A1A getting it's top coat. Woohoo! A big deal to us as we are here for the month and are tired of schlepping our gear a long way. Luckily we found a few parking spots not so far away but still have to hoof it down the rutted, muddy auxiliary entrance.
Thanks for sharing Chuck!
We're looking forward to a month there next winter.
Fairly nice sunrise today (see sunrise panorama), should be packed on the beach- no, packed parking lot rather. Beach is not at all crowded, even with afternoon high tides, since there is so much sand right now! Talked to a construction engineer yesterday who confirmed there will be both a large bathhouse near the entrance as well as showers near the path to the beach. Should all be beautiful when it's finally done. Completion date still supposedly 12/1 +/- a few days. The engineer played it cagily and would not commit to that! People still have to park 3/4 of a mile away at Little Mud Creek. Some smart folks are dropping their stuff off at the auxiliary path entrance just north of the closed BCB main entrance, parking and riding bikes (or even scooters) back.

No work has been done since 11/13 i.e. 5 days ago! Who knows why?! So 12/1 is not looking good.
Workers there yesterday 11/19! Gorgeous beach day except buggy early, aok after breeze started. Bring bug spray! Latest estimate for parking lot opening is mid-Dec.

Bathhouse being assembled! Last strong rumor is parking lot open mid-December. AND, most importantly, 6 of the 8 arrests at Muddy Creek for simple nudity a few weeks ago have been thrown out of court! The other 2 apparently took their penalty and fled home.
Our last day was Wednesday, and we truly had a great month of weather! Only bummer was the non-opening of the parking lot, looks to be a couple more weeks before it opens i.e. Mid-December possibly. At least the bathhouse is in place and it will be nice for the winter crowd and for us next year, we hope!
Thank you for all your reports & pictures!
You're very welcome! I love sharing "nekkid news" with folks. Now we're "toughing it out" at Cypress Cove for the winter, may return to BCB for few days after the parking lot opens just for fun. If so we will give an update then. We have a friend renting a condo just down the beach a few miles and she invited us to stay with her any time!
we been trekking to cypress cove. to be honest it is way better than Blind Creek which is way better than Haulover (when the lot is open) and second in nude beaces to club orient.
ive been negative with the improvements to blind creek ( haventt been in half a year) but i hope i can find a striped parking spot i. the fancy lot. if i cant park on A1A it will be a while before se re attempt.
the Cove is the best place on earth with Club O destroyed.
A bit of apples and oranges as far as we're concerned. Blind Creek beach is beautiful and fun to go to for the fresh breezes, long walks along the surf, playing horseshoes and hanging out with our pals, nekkid of course. But it is a little hassle to pack up everything every day, including drinks and lunch. When we've had our quota of beachin' it for the year, then we head to Cypress Cove, wonderful in it's own way, pure relaxation but lots to do if you look for it. Including the Happy Hours and weekend dinner dances. It's the Beatles Saturday night!
The parking lot will be very nice once the embarrassing delays are over. Hopefully this month sometime!
Thanks for the updates. We went twice this past summer but the trek from Mudd Creek was so mosquito ridden that we decided not to go back until the parking lot was done. Maybe in Jan?
You should be ok in January i.e. lot should be done. But it slips another month each month, it seems! Last month was usually breezy so we had almost no skeeter problems. We sprayed just in case. Did have no-see-ums for an hour or so in the morning until the breeze picked up on the beach.
We have learned if the winds are out of the west you can get no serums in broad daylight out of the mangroves. Winds out of the East no problem. Winds out of the North Cold, Wind out of the Soutgh Warm. So out of the southeast, perfect.
Latest from TCN. Early January means late January the way it has gone so far.

UPDATE ON THE PARKING AREA
12/9/25
(Sorry, Folks...)
The County advised us today that the project has suffered further delays. Construction will still be ongoing for the next two weeks, and then the project needs to be signed off by several different agencies.
Opening date is estimated to be sometime early in January 2026.
Im sure the county has a few people now designated as nude parking and nude potty directors. I see far too much attention coming to what was once a convenient yet primitive parking paradise. Hope im wrong.
A friend drove by the parking lot and took this pic showing that the paving is done! They are still saying opening in January though. Meanwhile if you get there early grab one of the parking spots just south of the entrance on the little side roads. Tolerable walk via the "horsepath," a hundred yards or so north of the entrance. NOT through the construction zone! The cops have arrested people walking in there!
nice entrance paving. now they need a giant sign in 5 foot high letters that says "NUDE BEACH".
Getting close? (pic) BUT now the hold up seems to be finishing putting in showers near the entrance path! How that affects parking is anyone's guess!
LOOKS SO FANCY, I SEE PAID PARKING IN THEIR FUTURE.
IT HAS NOW BEEN ONE YEAR AND TWO DAYS SINCE THEY CLOSED THE PARKING LOT.
TH EMPIRE STATE BUILDING TOOK 410 DAYS.
Here's the afore mentioned site of the showers by the path. Wonder how long that'll take since the lot remains close while they work on it!
I see the St Lucie County website targets Blind Creek parking lot opening now in March 2026
WTF??? They should have had a completion date set in the construction contract. Or a number of working days to complete. Any engineering firm can put together an estimate of time for any construction project. The county is getting screwed over here IMHO. There should be liquidated damages accessed to the contractor. Weather is NOT a reason to not finish on time unless it was extremely out of the norm. One can expect a number of rain days in any project. That is all figured into an estimate of time. FYI...I managed road and bridge construction project for 40 years. I'm retired now and just want to relax on my favorite beach.
Rant Over :P
Agree. They could have built a runway along a1a in this time. Milking Uncle county. If they had a hurricane or two last fall we’d be looking at two years.
For those that have driven the old Club orient road, every once and awhile the lot would get like that. Send out the road grader and have the port a potties serviced more often.
Keeping expectations low and even if I love the lot and potties I’m worried it will be double hard to get a spot in the lot and A1A parking will have been removed in this process.
Hopefully it turns out great.
Here's the latest bad news
Update on the Parking Area Construction
A few days ago, the County updated their website to say that the parking lot is now expected to reopen in March 2026. We were not aware of this delay and called the Parks & Recreation Department for an update. We were told that some unexpected electrical problems have cropped up and will add a few more weeks to the project.
We know everyone is frustrated and we are too. As soon as we know more, we will let you know.
I know it’s not the same…….but Club O being closed sent people elsewhere forever…………being closed for 14 months will have sent people elsewhere forever.
We only did the mud creek struggle twice before waving the white flag.
I guess losing some “patrons” will make it easier to use the new lot.
Hopefully, they don't announce a “grand opening” with all the Sheriff’s directing traffic.
Thanks for the info Chuck.
The county should direct the contractor to open the parking lot and let them caution tape off the area with the "unexpected electrical problems". Kind of sounds like the county has no backbone or doesn't really care about inconvenience to the tax payers? I don't have all the details so I shouldn't speculate here but... this is getting plain ridiculous.
For sure! Am guessing that the lot cannot open without an official safety inspection which cannot happen (why not?) until everything is done, i.e. they don't want to have to come back to re-inspect. Or some bureaucratic BS like that. I heard that they're blaming it on Duke Energy now!
I liked it as a 3rd world nude beach
Ditto. It was great EXCEPT for the huge potholes. So just keep filling those and don't spend the $1-2 million!!
And maybe humanely remove some more trees to make more parking
The saga continues. Sad. We have friends who are in a rented condo for the month nearby and between the closed lot and the cold, have not made it to the beach at all in their first 2 weeks! Never in our wildest dreams would we have thought it would take 15 months to redo a parking lot!

Update on the Parking Area Construction
Nothing has changed since our last update... the County is still predicting that the parking lot will reopen in March. As soon as we know something, we will share immediately. Here is a link to the County's website:
Parks & Recreation Closures | St. Lucie County, FL
My wife and I will be down for the month of March but not holding our breath this forever project will be complete. I see incompetence by the contractor and the county. Just my opinion having managed multi million dollar construction projects for 40 years. The contractor should have been paying liquidated damages last fall. The tax payers down there deserve better stewardship of their tax dollars. Hopefully the county will be holding the contractor to their March opening? I will be real disappointed if they push it back yet another month and wish I would have spent my $5,000+ in Osceola County at Cypress Cove. Yep could have stayed there for an entire month for the same $$$.
Dang that Rocketman guy is a grumpy old man! :P
Please inundate St. Lucie County with complaints such as this one from a friend at this email PIO@stlucieco.gov :
"As has been the case for the past five years, my wife and I have rented a private condo at Sand Dollar Shores on Hutchinson Island for the express purpose of utilizing the naturist section of Blind Creek beach near there. We noted the delay from the scheduled opening in November, but thought surely it would open in time for our month of February. It was quite surprising and disappointing to see the delay carried over from December, then to January, then February and yet again to March. How complicated can it be? Especially irksome is that, from all appearances, the parking lot seems capable of accommodating the vehicles for which it is intended. The best solution you could offer was to require a mile long walk each way to the beach? We will depart the area on March 1, having spent many thousands of dollars in rent, dining out and necessary purchases to make our stay comfortable and entertaining. We will not be surprised at all to drive by Blind Creek on our way out only to witness the barricades still in place. Shame on whomever is responsible."
Thanks Chuck. I agree everyone needs to send a complaint message. Hopefully the squeaky wheel will get some grease??? In my old place of work if complaints got to the top dog, action followed quickly. I have to wonder if complaints are getting to a person who can make a decision and take action? Since we don't live down there we can't file a complaint with the elected local officials but if we did my county board member would be getting his/her ear bent.
Oh and by the way... St. Lucie County has the highest property-tax rate in Florida.
Just got off the phone with St. Lucie County Parks and Recreation. Dawn tells me the parking lot won't be open until the end of March. All she would say is unforeseeable issues came up and they are still working there every day. She said they will not open the lot until everything is complete. Yet one more month folks! I am more than upset. Looks like it is the Mud Creek Slog for us. Hopefully I won't blow out my knee!!
Aerial photos indicate that the parking lot is complete. If the issue is electrical - as has been reported - then it's likely to do with the restrooms. Then why can't they just put in a few porta potties? Give us our beach back!! We spend the month of March on the Treasure Coast mostly for Blind Creek. We lost last year and, it seems, we'll lose this year as well. If so, we can spend our money in Pasco County

Rocket, I am attaching a map showing where you can park much nearer to the beach access path ("Equestrian Trail") if you are early (before 9 to be safe). Each of those areas hold several cars. And although there is no parking on the shoulder of A1A where there are No Parking signs, there is one spot on the road shoulder in the west side next to the bridge (middle arrow on the left) that holds 3 cars, they sometimes are empty if you arrive later. Message me if you want details.
Ok thanks Chuck. We did notice some cars there yesterday. My wife and her friend are dropping me off today with my fishing gear while they shop. So my struggles getting to the beach won't be bad. A few pompano would be nice. 🤞 I'll report back.
The beach was pretty crowded yesterday for a Thursday. I would say a dozen shade tents each direction from the equestrian trail access point. I guess plenty of people are making their way to the best beach in Florida. There were quite a few cars parked in the area Chuck posted. Shhhh don't tell too many people. :P The fishing sucked. Too much seaweed floating in making it impossible to surf fish. Oh and not a single person "working" on the parking lot.
The latest from TCN! Latest update from the County: Parking lot to reopen 3/20/26 or sooner 🤞
We just spent a few days looking for a condo near Blind Creek for next November as the one that we have been renting at Sand Dollar Shores is no longer being rented. It seems to be a renters market this year, found a few choices and settled on a nice one (2BR, 2BA) for $900 less than last yr! I recommend AnneMarie Stetson (772-413-8467) for a realtor for that location and also Ocean Towers a few miles farther south. Most require one month minimum.

Blind Creek still closed...
Like I was telling everyone that heard it was opening today... Don't hold your breath. : O
The weather looks perfect this weekend. We will be there even if we have to helicopter in. ;P
Thanks for saving me a drive to find out

Blind Creek still closed
This is beginning to remind me of the Seinfeld rental car episode.
You know how to make a schedule - you just don't know how to keep a schedule.
Lots of cars parked west side of road - beyond no parking signs.
It’s official, St Lucie County could have built a replica of the Empire State Building in less time than a parking lot……………..good grief
Was on US1 driving through Ft Pierce yesterday and thought about detouring to A1A to see it, but didnt.
Maybe today? Maybe next month? Maybe next year??? Nobody knows. Especially the St. Lucie County NOOBS. :P
According to TCN - maybe this week…
We will stay at Cypress Cove for the month of March next year. St. Lucie County doesn't deserve our money. Whoever lives and votes here, do not vote for Matt Baum: Director of Parks, Recreation and Facilities. He is the one to blame for this complete and utter fiasco.
If Treasure Coast naturists (TCN) lobbied the county for this it was a mistake. What they should have lobbied for was expanded (like double) sand parking lot, periodic grading of the potholes and a second bank of 4 port a potties.
We are able bodied and completely unwilling to make the effort to walk the sidewalk of A1A or the sand beach to the AN area.
Haulover has structures and those structures enable some bad behavior especially early evening. Expect the same at BNB.
And every named tropical storm expect it to be closed for roof and storm surge anomalies with the electric.
Paradise lost, maybe. Will check it out when done.
Agree on the Cove, much more relaxing and you can legally have a cold one.
From what I have read, TCN is mostly blameless for this fiasco. It was St. Lucie County feeling the need to upgrade the facilities to the standard set by the other parks. I think TCN lobbied for showers by the path to the beach, not sure if that is working out or not, but it for sure has not held up the project to any extent compared to the bureaucratic BS layered on it.
Most likely we will enjoy what they've done since we usually get there early. Later arrivals will still have to either seek those few parking spots just south of the entrance or slog down from Muddy Creek. As some have posted elsewhere, the latter isn't such a big deal if you first drop off your gear and spouse at the Horse path temporary entrance. That's what did last November.
WE’RE OPEN!!!
Blind Creek Parking lot and bathrooms are open for business! The showers are operational but have not yet been privatized. This will be a separate project between TCN and the County.
Enjoy!!!
Unfortunately too late for us. We've missed 2 full years . Very disappointed in the ridiculous res tape. Shame on all local politicians.
We will re think next year.
Why privatize nudist showers? Glad its open, will have to check it out finally.
