St. John
We're mulling over the idea of a day stop in St. John during our next sail. Considering Norman to Cruz Bay to clear customs, then taking a rental car. Followed by an overnight at Cinnamon or Maho. Heading next to JVD to check back in thru customs. Any feedback would be appreciated.

(Following)
I'm thinking about Norman to Cruz/Customs and then back to Francis for our last night. I'd like the kids to hike a trail, see some ruins, etc. to experience that "side" of the Virgin Islands

Hopefully your plan includes a stop at Sopers to clear out.

Love St John but two check in's and one check out for 1 day? I'd wait until you can spend a little more time.

C&I hit me a buck a foot to clear back in 2 weeks ago

That 1$/foot episode in the BVI lasted just a couple of days and was rescinded immediately once those in charge found out what was happening.

last Wednesday at jvd I was charged $1per foot as a port entry fee when clearing in from St John.

Knotthead - that means I was mis-informed about the fees being rescinded. I am surprised, since that will put a serious crimp in the number of day-trippers from the USVI coming across to places such as White Bay. I clear out of the BVI in 2 days so will find out if they are also charging fees to exit.

Which Wednesday? It was announed on Wednesday Feb 10 that the fee was being recended. It seems that JVD didn't get the word for a couple of days.

beerme, for one day, depending on what mood the agent is in, he can clear in and out at the same time.

What would be real slick is to Clear out and Clear in at the same time. Just dreaming <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

what would be really slick if US and BVI talked.
Thanks everyone, I honestly hadn't considered having to checkout of the BVI. Waaaayyyyy too big of a pain! Maybe we'll just swing by Trunk and watch all the cruise ship people on the beach...

I think the French islands that have the online clearance is a step in the right direction.

Martinique is way cool. Sit at a computer at the marina office for 5 minutes = Your check in. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Thumbsup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Thumbsup.gif" alt="" />
