FOXY'S Cat Fight

Hi All, We are very excited about the 2015 Foxy's Cat Fight. This event has really grown with the support of TTOLers and we're looking to make 2015 great (errr... not have any mix ups with date on the Website!).

So FYI, this event is scheduled for Sat. October 31st-- so hopefully no confusion. I would like to try to get some publicity on it and reach out to charter companies, but would first love to hear from previous participants, and particularly those who are planning to return in 2015.

I am very much in need of high resolution photos (over 1mb) of boats racing - you and your crew having fun, and for folks dressed up at the party. If anyone is willing to share let me know here or via private message! And also what in reason you'd like to see happen at this event.

This looks like a great event ... Wish we could make it. if anybody is looking to participate and needs a charter vessel, I can offer my catamaran, S/V Orion , at a discounted rate. She is a brand new 2016 Lagoon 400-S2 who starts her charter life in October 2015 ... FOXY'S Cat Fight would be one of her first charters ... So she will be pristine! Please PM me if interested. Looking for I little more detail on Cat fight. I see registration time at 11:00 on the 31st. What time does the cat fight start and route. I am unfamiliar with west end yach club, where is that?

That was last year. Registration usually starts on Friday evening and at the skippers meeting Saturday morning. There are 2 races. First is out to a mark to be left to port, around Sandy Key to port and back to Great harbor. Second is around Sandy Key to starboard, Great Thatch to starboard then around the mark to port and back to Great Harbor. The mark is usually located somewhere off of little Harbor, Jost but occasionally as far as Apple Bay, Tortola.

West End Yacht club runs the race from Great Harbor, Yost van Dyke as described by Glenn.

Hi All, Thanks for the great responses and for those of you who sent photos! I just proofed the posters for the event which should be complete on Monday. Thanks GlennA for providing information- that is correct, registration on Friday evening. Thinking of adding in some other events to coincide with the regatta. One thought is to do a Dinghy Poker run on Sun- and wondering if there is any interest in this?

If we plan to be at JVD on the 31st for the party, where should be plan to find a mooring, and by what time to insure we get one? Prefer not to be there the night before, as we might try to be at Leverick on Friday night. Never attended, so don't know how crowded this week will be. Appreciate the help.

Personally, I would get to Great Harbour by late morning. Those participating in the races will already have balls taken and granted that Foxy's Halloween party is that night, all it takes is 1 flotilla to fill it up.

You should have no problems with a mooring in Gt Harbour...maybe 20 cats for the "fight"..hopefully more..but lots of empty apace..come join the fun..GO GALEAUX!!!!

We fly in on Oct. 27th. Hoping if all goes well opening up our boat after 6 months away that we will be over at JVD on the 30th. We don't plan on racing but hope to join the fun afterwards. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Hi, everyone:

The above post gave me the idea to ask Laura to help me create custom shirts for my family's upcoming trip over Christmas week aboard Catatonic. The shirts arrived well in advance of our wheels up date and are perfect!

I ordered the tech shirts with 50+ UPF and Laura has the artwork for the boat we've chartered, which will provide both a memento souvenir of the trip plus some sunscreen for my family (Mrs. HJS, two teens and me)!

The shirts show a drawing of Catatonic on the back and over the breast and are really cool, adding to the pre-trip excitement.
