First Clockwise Itinerary Report and Thanks! - 03/31/2015 11:24 PM

Thought I would try to give back a little for the helpful advice I received from the good people on this site. I have mainly gone counterclockwise in the past around the islands but we wanted to experience the FMP at Trellis and therefore had to switch directions to make it easier and this is how it ended up. Will try to be brief but happy to elaborate if anyone has questions.

February 28 - arrive in Roadtown and spend the night onboard

March 1 - sailed over to Deadman's Bay on Peter and anchored in for some snorkeling with some turtles and lunch before spending the night in Privateer Bay on Norman to snorkel the Caves. Dinner onboard.

March 2 - sailed from Norman to JVD and White Bay via the cut between West End and Thatch. Dinner that night at Soggy Dollar which was very good except for the waitress not being able to take a good picture of all of us. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Yikes.gif" alt="" />

March 3 - morning at Bubbly Pool which was as active as I have seen. Sailed out towards Kingfish Banks to let the fishermen do their thing and headed back in to Sandy Cay and spent the night in CGB with lunch onboard.

March 4 - this day was where most of my questions to the board and concerns occurred. Thought about trying to head to Anegada but would've been a long beat into the wind so we headed North close hauled and tacked back towards Monkey Point for a stop. Then motored through between Trellis and Camanoe and tacked our way to North Sound. A tough day for one of the girls prone to sea sickness but certainly shorter than headed back through the Drake. Spent the night at BEYC so we could eat at the pub and watch a basketball game. Too numerous to count huge yachts for yacht week I think.

March 5 - headed to Anegada on a great sail with 25 knot winds and 7 foot swells. Noticed my genoa was torn at the top on the way but it sailed great despite the tear. Dinner that night at the Wonky Dog which the crew crew agreed was the best food we had all week. Felt the lobster there was prepared better than the old standard restaurants on Anegada, and it was less crowded and we got personal attention from the chef. Awesome night!

March 6 - essentially the other crux of our itinerary as we wanted to hit the FMP but knew we didn't want to have to rush to try and find a ball. Instead had a leisurely wake up and sail and reserved a slip at Scrub Island Marina which was the surprise hit of the trip for the crew. Beautiful pool and setting for a land day and everyone loved being able to take advantage of the resort and showers. Ate dinner outdoors at the resort and was very good. Took the free ferry from the resort over to the FMP and back. Worked perfectly and was definitely a great decision from a planning standpoint if you don't mind the $3/foot charge for staying at the marina for the night. A good alternative to having to get to Trellis the night before or early that morning of a FMP.

March 7 - got up early to get a ball at the Baths, lunch at the top, then off to the Rhone to snorkel and picked up the last ball available at Cooper for the night. Got lucky on that one but could have jetted to Peter or Norman for the night or anchored if need be. Lunch onboard to finish out the provisions.

March 8 - back to reality.

Be glad to add more detail if anyone wants but the crew kept telling me they thought each day kept getting better and better so we may hit this itinerary and direction again with our next crew. Thanks again for all the great advice!

Cheers and Happy Boating!

Yep...might have to rethink our original plan of making "cheeseburgers in paradise" at Anegada and have some dinner at Wonky Dog instead!

Sounds like a great trip! We sail in 41 days. We will have to make the stop at Wonky Dog for the jerk pork chop and lobster! Great Report.
