Caribbean Cellars contact? - 07/06/2015 06:56 PM

hey all-
leaving the 9th!
put in my order a while back (too far back I'm sure, about a month), got a reply and sent in my cc info. e-mailed last week for a confirmation, no reply. e-mailed again early today, no reply (yet)
getting a bit nervous, I needs my booze to be on board!
(btw- Riteway responded within an hour when I sent a confirmation email to them last week. love that service!)

should I call, or just chill? can you assuage my fears?

I know, if nothing else I can re-order when I get there or go through riteway....

too much time on my hands?

I think so....

I'm just so...
well, you know....

Robert was very responsive to me via email...however, phone is usually the most efficient mode of communication in BVI.

Yes... Robert got on the phone after my 3rd call to try and straighten out my order and apologize for the confusion and took care of me. I think he is English.

I had exactly the same problem quite some time ago. A client called me and asked me to help contact them. When I finally did get through on behalf of my client (and it wasn't easy) Mr. Knock assisted. He was very apologetic and the client finally got their order processed.

Unfortunately, communication with the client seems to be a standing problem. I'm not sure why.

I'd call...and I'd call when I get there too! I had plenty of email conversation and a call about the payment method. The order still didn't show up the morning we had arranged. I had the charter company call and CC said it was already on the way. Then they called back to the charter company and said they couldn't find the order. Then they called again with some substitutions to ok. So it had never been on the way already!

You could have nailed there with the "another time statement".
They are used to the dd/mm/yyyy and most of here are used to the mm/dd/yyyy. that said they could have easily thought you were going to be there in September rather than July.

Don't order too far in advance. Robert Knock told me that they process the order 3d prior to delivery. If you're sending an order in 6 weeks out or a month out, it's way too early. A week to 10d is plenty.

You'll get a confirmation of your on-line order via email. If they are out of stock of a wine or spirit you've ordered, it will show up as a "0" on your confirmation email. There will be a CC authorization form in a .PDF file attached to your confirmation email; you need to print, fill out, copy it and upload it as attachment to email it back to them or FAX your filled out form to them.

The form asks you to call them to give them your 3 digit security code. I strongly recommend you do this ..... after you get an international calling plan from you phone service provider!

I've found Robert to be very courteous, reliable and goes the extra mile to get your order straight. When you call to provide your security code, he will also advise you of any wines or spirits you have ordered that are not available and recommend substitutions.

Caribbean Cellars is a Stoly distributor. They get a little better cut on Stoly v. the others (e.g., Absolute). Same to a little lower price by a few cents for Stoly v. Absolute. Huge diff if feel like you have to drink Grey Goose. My advice: If you're drinking Vodka, order Stoly. They'll appreciate that. Same goes for Caribe and Red Stripe. I love Presidente but I'll go with Caribe to get my beverage order from this place. First rate, IMO.
