Moorings provisioning package

Moorings provisioning package - 09/15/2015 10:06 PM

Has anyone used the Moorings full provisioning package? This is going to be number 15 charter for me but, all have been out of St Thomas where Fine Foods Afloat did all my provisioning. Unfortunately, CYOA no longer has power cats so, off to Tortola we go. Any thoughts on those who have used them would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have not used the full provisioning package. We did however use their ala carte system and it was great. Arrived at the boat to find everything onboard. Pricing was comparable to Bobbies or Riteway. Much easier then shopping at the stores or waiting around for delivery.

We did a la carte also combined with alcoholic beverage delivery from Caribbean Cellars and fresh produce and meats with a trip to Riteway the day of arrival. Everything was as ordered and delivery arrived during our 1st night onboard. I ordered most staples and regular beverages through the Moorings and their prices were competitive with other suppliers. I would go the same route again on our next charter.

We have used the on line ordering system and was delivered prior to our arrival, very nice on reducing arrival workload. We did go shop fresh produce. As George said, competive pricing. I will use them again.

Did you by chance do a sleep aboard? We're using them Nov. with a Sunday night sleep aboard. I'm hoping that we will arrive Sunday night to find the boat stocked rather than the moorings guy show up Monday morning and unload.

We did the sleep aboard and the food was there prior to 6:00.

We did a sleepaboard also and the food was there on arrival. Makes it nice when you arrive tired, hungary and thirsty!

Awesome. I had hoped that would be the case. Thanks!

We've used both the full provisioning as well as the a la carte.. Only used the full once and have done a la carte since.

Full was good - it was our very first trip and it pretty much had everything we needed. It was more food than we needed, but it was conveinent and made things easy. We prefer to do it ourselves now though.

You did not say when you would be chartering.

We have happily used Moorings full and a la carte provisioning for years. Only problem was one Saturday during high season. Provisioning did not arrive until midnight.

Every other time, including other weekends not in high season were fine with food there when we arrived. But weekends in high season can be a bit of a stretch. Of course this is the case with all provisioning options, not just Moorings.
