Next week - 03/21/2016 06:56 PM

We are heading out for our 2nd charter next Friday and are going over our checklists and last minute details to make sure nothing is missed. We are chartering "Xenia" with BVI Yacht Charters. There will be four of us, myself and my wife and a couple of BVI newbies. Fishing license has been obtained, paddle board has been confirmed with Last Stop, order will be called in to Caribbean Cellars next week, arrangements will be made with Kevin next week. My wife and I are arriving on Friday and doing a sleep aboard and will provision and get situated. On Saturday, the 2nd, we will head over to CGB to await the rest of our crew since they will be arriving later. After that we have a general itinerary heading to JVD, Norman, VG Yacht Harbor, Leverick, Guana and a final night in Sopers so we can drive over to CGB for some BBQ and tunes at Elm and still have and easy sail back to Road Town in the morning. Hoping the weather is good and no swell issues. It snowed in Boston this morning (happy spring) so can't wait for some tropical air and sand between my toes.

Curious why you would do VG Yacht Harbor on such a short trip. There are some many nicer places to overnight.

It worked out good for us last year to hit the Baths early and we love doing dinner at Coco Maya.

Very Jealous! 69 days until wheels up! One thought, since you are spending a night at Leverick, I have to say the best way to the Baths is a rental car from Leverick. If I remember correctly it was only like $70 bucks (or Aztec gold) for 24 hours. Then you can enjoy a few additional places like Spanish Town, Spring Bay, Little Trunk, Little Dix and others. Also no stress battling it out for a ball and no limit on your time (other than the 24 hour car rental). This may also open up time for another stop. Enjoy, safe travels - Sail Fast Live Slow! Tim

We have actually been toying with the idea of doing 2 nights at Leverick instead of VG Yacht harbor and renting a car for the Baths. I think we may be leaning that way.

Two nights at Leverick and a rental car is definitely the way to go..smart move..Nick and Monzi will take great car of you and order the car.

Yep, we prefer Leverick over VGYH by a big margin. We did a night in VGYH in July when guest schedules did not allow us to get to North Sound; we just HAD to visit the Baths for two weeks in a row. Its a bucket list thing for many of our guests.

VGYH worked fine with a rental car and a tour of the island with dinner at Coco Maya, but Leverick has the resort feel with its great staff and the North Sound has its own appeal. We took crew to Leverick/North Sound the next week and the whole experience was their favorite after Maho Bay, St. John.

Cheers, RickG

I'm thinking the 2 nights at Leverick is a done deal. We'll rent a car and hit the Baths early, maybe check out Hog Heaven and drive over to Coco Maya, we can't NOT go there, love it.

We'll be there the same time - April 2-10 on a 48' Horizon motor yacht - I think she's called "Virgin Flyer"
It's snowing here in Michigan now - possible 10-13" tomorrow!

Do people prefer a slip at Leverick or a ball?

Re: Next week - 03/22/2016 05:59 PM

It seems to me that many people prefer a slip since the cost is the same I believe, and then all in your party can come and go as they please.

We are all set for two nights at Leverick, seems like it's the right way to go.
