Voyage 480 vs Moorings 4800

We have chartered the Moorings 4800 the last two times and the Moorings 4600 twice prior to that. We love the Moorings, but I would like to sail a better performing catamaran while not losing too many of the plush amenities found aboard the Moorings vessels. We get great service from the Moorings and would not want to jeopardize losing that. I am considering Voyage and the 480; has anyone sailed both boats? Opinions on the aforementioned boats and charter companies requested?

I havent sailed a Moorings 48 but did charter a Voyage 48 last summer. It is a great boat, very comfortable, sailed like a champ. Had all the amenities I can imagine you could need for a charter. Water maker, ice maker, rain garden showers. Lots of room and very comfortable. The staff at Voyage will take good care of you and I think you will be impressed by their boats and particularly by the boats performance . (Disclaimer: I own a 44 foot Voyage in the fleet)

Thanks for the reply, I located a thread which addresses my concerns and am gathering lots of opinions at the moment. Looks like I should be considering a Lagoon 450 also.

Was lucky enough to sail a Voyage 480 with Chris Curran and crew..lovely boat..performs beautifully and every amenity you could want..plus the great Voyage crew ( and you sail out of Soper's and not RT!!)

Endless Summer was nice, Mal. Galeaux is as well in the 50' version. And if you're flying into STT the West End is a great place to depart.

We liked the 48 because of the separate shower stall and also the aft cabin bunks are at ground level so you can just fall in <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

It does have a different traveler than the rest of the Voyage boats, but it was easy to learn. We'll be on a 480 again in June with the usual suspects <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

I wasn't going to sidetrack the thread, and I haven't sailed the Voyage, but since you brought it up, I would highly recommend the Lagoon 450. IMO it has the best balance of size, amenities, and performance of all the cats I have sailed. I chartered with The Moorings for years but my last 2 sails have been with TMM. It feels like the Moorings did when it was still a family run business. (That dates me)
