Another Provisioning Question

Another Provisioning Question - 06/04/2017 02:05 PM

Only 28 days to go....and I must have read every recent post on Provisioning and still some questions and issues.

We used Bobby's in past (last visit 2014) but now no one seems to approve, any issues, why? I do not want to get stuck holding the bag that is for sure.

Carib Beer is there a "light version"? I did not see on any site?

For the web order we order: water, wine, beer, and other liquid refreshments. Have that delivered on our arrival day. Then all the food shopping we go direct to Riteway at the store.

Based on this...any conclusions?

Signed

Bobbys is much better of late.

The store is much smaller than riteway.

So, if riteway is well stocked, it will have more selection.

This is how we provision. Rent a car, shop wherever we want, buy whatever we want, and return rental car. We know this is not for everyone and we never sail for less than 2 weeks. We do not want people picking out our perishable foods. We actually might "provision" water, beer and sodas, for weight purposes.

Where do you rent a car just for 1 day on Tortola? Have not been able to find one.

Having provisioned at Riteway and Bobbies in the past we have found the provisioning thru Sunsail/Mooring to be very convenient. Prices on common item seem competitive. No rushing around and no cabs.

We used Moorings provisioning last week (a la carte, not split provisioning) and were very happy. The order was waiting for us and nicely packed in the freezer and refrigerator) when we arrived for evening checkin (apart from one or two minor items being unavailable and quickly subtracted from the bill by the reception staff).
