Sounds like BVI Airways is and was a "NOTHINGBURGER" that the inexperienced BVI government fell for hook, line, and sinker!

Once they furlough the crews it gets expensive. The pilots will need a refresher course in the sim. The aircraft themselves will deteriorate quickly sitting. Hopefully they will fly them somewhere dry for storage however that is another cost.

Lame question...how much would it have cost to subsidize American to bring back the SJU to EIS flights? Or another US carrier? Would $7 million have made any kind of impact or not at all?

I hate the ferries and the overnight in STT. We come from the West Coast and it was so much easier to fly into SJU on one PNR thru American.

7 million would go a long way to subsidize flights. It would be better spent on a great ferry system with onboard customs and immigration!

Maybe they should consult Sir Richard. He seems to know how to run a successful business or two.

His Airlines have not been a financial strong point. He sold Virgin America to Alaska and half of Virgin Atlantic giving operational control to Delta.
The real problem is they simply don't have the airport they need or the proper equipment for the route. Trying to run a scheduled airline from a airport without a instrument approach and old aircraft with marginal performance for the routes is not a recipe for success.
