Has anyone used visa exemption policy? - 08/15/2017 08:24 PM

Hey all,

We are planning a trip with another couple. My DH told me that they are American citizens months ago. Turns out the husband is, but the wife is in the process and the process is taking forever. She is currently a permanent resident (green card) in the US.

Has anyone used this policy to enter? "Effective September 1st, 2016, this policy will allow nationals of a country where BVI visas are required, who hold a UK, US or Canada visas and are visiting the BVI for Business or tourism related matters, to enter and remain for a period of less than six (6) months, without the need for a visa."

She is going to call the BVI consulate in San Francisco to confirm, but I thought I'd also post and see if anyone has any experience with it.

Thanks!

I do not know if that specific law came into play, however my daughter in law is a Brazilian national with permanent US residency. She had no problems entering the BVI or returning to the US on a charter last summer.
