taxi/rental cars

Please forgive me if this has been covered in detail already. A group of us our coming down in January for a charter. We usually rent a car to run errands, grocery shop, alcohol, pick people up at the airport, etc... I have been reading the road conditions are not good and I assume a lot of the rental car places have been damaged.

Any information on rental cars that will be working in January or should we just budget and plan to take a taxi for these errands and pick-ups?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mal--what about Jerry's?? Is he renting cars, do you know?

I was there three weeks ago and all the cars at Jerry's and Denzil's looked wrecked or at least badly damaged. Denzil told me he was still in business but just laughed when I asked where the cars were..there is nothing left of D and D at the bottom of Zion Hill. Somesay Deadman in East End has cars and maybe International. AC is definitely in business and his usual smiling self..

I was there a couple of weeks ago and rented a car from Enos Aaron in Road Town.

It wasn't 'in pristine condition' but it got me around!

We use Albert and Iris Penn to pick us up and move us around a bit on Tortola. Normally preordering our groceries that Iris will pick up prior to our arrival from Riteway.

If Deadman has cars, he's and excellent choice. The service he provides is excellent, he is responsive and extremely helpful.

We needed taxi service from ferry to hospital , to hotel ( Fort Burt) then to airport after Ward’s injury and this amazing man Sammy Boy helped us . He has a big toyota van which was basically not damaged at all. Most cars have damage , some running around with not s window anywhere . Weird .
