Places to stay Tortola - 01/15/2018 06:06 PM

Hey Gang,

My group of 8 is chartering our annual awesome 9 day power boat cruise from the Moorings. at the end of the cruise we usually stay in Cane Garden Bay for 2 days to wind down before we fly back home. The places we usually stay in CGB are not available. Any suggestions on Tortola that has beach bars and a beach near by to stay at? Thanks a ton

You could try Rhymers or Stanley's in CGB.

We always stay at The Sugarmill Hotel prior to our charter. They plan to reopen in April and it is a fabulous place to relax before or after. Looking forward to our return in Jun.

Hard to beat The Sugar Mill since Dennis and Mary took over. They had been hoping to be open by now but, like the rest of us in the neighbourhood, repairs are taking longer than we hoped for. I believe the restaurant has partially reopened and we really hope to be there when we return at the end of Feb..

Another vote for Sugar Mill should they get reopened! We have stayed there once and dined there many times. Top notch and wonderful!

I apologize we will need the rooms in early March. Sugar Mill sounds good if they are open.

I sent any email to Rhymers on Tuesday, no reply yet. Perhaps I need to call them.

Probably worth a call. The power and internet is still very sporadic.

I too am looking for 3 nights in CGB and have contact Rhymers by email right after the hurricane to see if they were all right and got a response. But just this month contacted again by email to see if any availability for June and have not had a response to that yet. I need to call as well but don't have a land line to call them from. Orange_Burst if you find out anything let us know, thanks!

Agape Cottages, Myetts, Myetts Cottages, Lighthouse Villas I have checked out and are a no go for this season. One other I can think of is Mongoose Apartments, haven't tried them yet.

The phone number I have for Rhymers is 284.495.4639 . . .haven't had a chance to figure out how to call with cell over wifi if doable

We have stayed at Sugar Mill, which is nice, however our preferred spot to stay is at Surfsong, which is on Beef Island, right by the airport. I just checked their website, and they may not be open, so you would have to check with them first. There's no issues with aircraft landing etc - flights are pretty infrequent.

I have tried calling Rhymers at the number you listed and a number I had, 284-495-3946 and can not get through on either number. Anyone have another number I could try?

Colleen- stopped by Rhymers today. She is holding 3 rooms for you for 3/13 - 3/16. The phones are down but they have a cell phone for business calls. Please call 284-547-4639 to confirm you want the rooms.

Now I see I gave her the wrong dates. Give a call to change and confIrm. I’m sure they will have rooms in April if March was still open

Sorry about the dates!
