Southwest Airlines just released fares & schedules through middle of June 2019. We booked from Tampa to San Juan round trip for $250 in May 2019, and then booked round trip from San Juan to Tortola for $225. So total was $475 round trip Tampa to Tortola, I gotta believe that’s gonna be hard to beat considering it skips having to go to STT and take the ferry!

Yup....this the route I usually book now, using either Jet Blue or Southwest and Intercaribbean!

Our next trip we’re doing this, Southwest/Seaborne. We looked at InterCaribbean, but their baggage rules are stricter, 10 # for carryon, and that’s a problem for us.

I'm not seeing that for flights out of Detroit, in fact they have went up in the last week. We are not going until April, so it is way too early to book, but I've been checking them once a week just in case they go down.

The flight schedule out of ATL and the one of InterCarribean isn't meshing too well for my dates. Right now, ATL to STT prices are really high. Delta is running $1683. AA is a little under $800. ATL to SJU is under $400. The InterCarribean prices are good, but the schedule isn't. Decisions, decisions. Flying out the Friday of Memorial Day weekend is what's probably driving all of this.

We fly into EIS arriving at 6:40pm on Saturday 5/4/19, this is our first time flying directly into Tortola. I imagine clearing customs should not be an issue at that hour of the evening, right? In other words, will the customs office be open still? I’m just wondering since it seems like I remember the Road Town ferry pier customs closes earlier in the evening.

If you're flying in, Immigration and Customs will be there. Easy or not all depends on the mood of the officer and your approach. Remember to remove sun glasses and hats when approaching a govt. officer. Also be sure to say Good Night as you approach them. If they are receptive, you could ask how there day is. I tend to leave it at Good Night.
