Oil Nut Question

I'm thinking we will take the boat for an overnight at the Oil Nut Marina so that crew can have lunch and 'chill' at their pool. I am confused about dinner at Oil Nut Bay ….. something about restaurant not being open unless there are resort guests, which in case our crew will have access to the restaurant with a $75.00 'day pass'. I don't understand …. Does this cover the cost of the meal, or in addition to the cost of our dinner meal? Is anyone 'in the know' about this?

We visited there in June via ferry and kept the boat at Leverick — I am not entirely sure how user-friendly they are going to be for boaters at the actual resort — aside from their marina — when season commences. I know the whole ferry arrangement is over.

You have to golf cart over to the restaurant and resort from the marina and we were required to make a lunch reservation in order to use the facilities. I got the impression from a couple of their employees that this arrangement for boaters was temporary and only in place until their resort customers began returning. I think the marina is going to have its own amenities - I don’t think boaters are going to be able to use the resort facilities without an extra cost but I would call them to be sure.

I got an explanation from Oil Nut. You are correct this is a temporary arrangement to allow day guests. Effective December 15th the resort becomes exclusive for their guests. They hope to officially open their 'Marina Village' on that same date. Also at that time a $75.00 per person day pass will be available to marina guests. Until then … marina slip is $2.00 per foot for overnight (plus electric) and lunch at the Beach Club Restaurant (with reservations). No dinner is available unless guests are staying at the resort. We plan to spend the day on December 13th (two days before the change), have lunch and pool time, although might end up having dinner on our boat.

We were at Oil Nut Bay last year for lunch, and drinks, and had a great time. The $75 per person fee for a day pass
seems expensive for what you get. The new marina plans look nice, but I think we'll be passing ONB this year

I am same as CaptnAndy. Greatly enjoyed our visit last summer with pool and lunch. But $75 x 6( or 8) in addition to food and drinks... I will pass.

I understand they desire to regulate how many visitors are there, and I think this will certainly decrease the number of visitors... Not complaining, just my view.
