forthcoming BVI trip

Hello everyone,
I need a bit on help concerning the forthcoming BVI trip .
We have chartered a Bali 4.3 catamaran from DYC (with watermaker and generator) from 22.01.2019 to 05.02.2019.
I have read a lot of trip suggestions from online guides and I have also bought the "The 2017-2018 Cruising Guide to the Virgin Islands" by Nancy Scott which I found to be extremely well documented and helpful.
But . . .I still feel that I am missing something. All the places I read about are quite popular, touristic and probably crowded which is fine with us for most of our trip.
Taking into account the small draft of our cat it would be nice if we can find a "secret beach" (secret meaning less crowded as possible) with nice sand and palm trees where we can anchor and spend a day or two.
Highly appreciate any suggestions,

Hi Jhonny, welcome to TTOL. I'm sure you will get many suggestions. I'll first suggest the west coast of Anegada. Not sure how the anchorage is there (I've seen a few). But certainly quiet and very pretty. Not a great spot for snorkeling. But very quiet.

We will be there at the same time-hope to cross paths. Having many trips to BVI under our cap, we never tire of our favorite spots. Regard the cruising guide, it has traditionally been an excellent resource, but keep in mind that it has not been revised to address what is and is not available post Irma. Obviously, the anchorages, water, reefs are pretty much as described in the guide, but the shore services are seriously out of date. Your best guide to “what is” is a review of the past several months of this TTOL thread.

Bot line, you will have to work extremely hard to not have an awesome experience. Look for the proud Texas flag flying from the masthead as you pass through your anchorages. Hope to see you there

Anegada for sure....we always liked Sandy Cay off of JVD. Irma took out a lot of the trees and then a more recent storm took out a lot of the sandy beach on the west side. we went there in Oct and if you moor and dinghy get your dinghy engine out of the water as you approach as there fist sized stones where the long beach used to be.

White Bay, Guana Island seems to be more secluded. If there make sure to go down to monkey point to snorkel.

I also think crowded is all relative. It has been less crowded post Irma but even then the crowds arent too bad.

If you go to the Baths go early. when you go to White Bay JVD Soggy can get crowded but then just go to any of the other bars to your left and right and it will thin out. if you go to White Bay go early.

for early we usually will overnight the night before closeby. For Baths Spanish Town and for Soggy either Cane Garden bay or Great Harbour JVD

If you go at Full Moon Trellis Bay will be crowded

Might also, think about, Diamond Cay on Jost. moorings and dink dock......and in the same area, Little Jost, for the B-LIne Bar . They also have some moorings. NE winds would be good, If the winds are south of east, all of Jost is open to the wind and seas.

@ndfaninnc : I will def try the west cost of Anegada. Most of us are kitesurfers and Anegaga is a must. We are also looking for secluded places where we can kite (not the regular kite spots) so any recommendations are more that welcomed. Anyone has and experience anchoring there?
@CestLaVie: Will keep an eye open for the Texas flag. Our Bali should have the Romanian flag on the masthead.

We typically see kiteboarders in North Sound Virgin Gorda...alhtough Saba Rock and Bitter End are still down Leverick is up. Leverick is our overnight before we head to Anegada so maybe you can kiteboard in North Sound before heading north to Anegada

Isn't the beach at White Bay, Guana private? That could be why it's so secluded. Correct me if I'm wrong

I do believe it is private...we have moored briefly a couple of times. Not an ivernight place

Key Cay Peter Island is another...

The beach is private. There are mooring balls there and you can stay overnight. Nothing on shore for us though. Potentially Susceptible to a north swell.
