Jimmy "the Greek" Vegas odds on BEYC - 03/13/2019 05:50 PM

We sailed by BEYC last month (a sand lot). My wife's "big birthday" is winter of 2020. She wants to stay at the BEYC (in an actual hotel like status). What's everyone's Jimmy "the Greek" Vegas odds on the BEYC having some form of actual "hotel status" going by then, i.e. 50/50, 1 in 10, 1 in 100? I told her it "ain't happening." thx

I'm not a betting person, but I would say "slim to none"

I agree.

When they do open expect a much more scaled back operation. I have heard they were badly underinsured.

As Orange opined, chances are slim to none and Slim left the building

Perhaps she would settle for Peter Island. I give that much better odds!

Or Little Dix or Guana.

Guana Island has been up and running since August 2018. From appearances it looks like Saba Rock could reopen well before BEYC 2.0, Little Dix Bay, or Peter Island.

How about a villa and you hire a chef every day - you get daily maid service and all the linens are changed every two days and you have a private pool - and I do mean private.

Sounds awesome, in fact, better than beyc. where would that be?

Just wondering....

Possibly SCUB ISLLAND RESORT.

It looks very nice, upscale, and on the water, with nice easy hiking, water sports, sandy beaches, high quality accomodations that appear to be fantastic, swimming pools, swim up bar, and
if you fancy, free ferry over to peaceful Marina Cay, and Trellis Bay that opens up Tortola to you with a taxi ride.

We have not been to Scrub as yet, but it is on the float plan in a couple of months, May, We plan to try and reserve a slip but if that does not work, we can sail into Marina Cay,
pick up a mooring there, and then take the small motor vessel that is called THE FERRY, over for a day trip and explore Scrub .

Also, with the ferry, you have additional options for visiting other islands made very easy . At least marina cay, and Trellis Bay, Tortola.

Another idea, free ferry to Tortola, and Maybe, from Road Harbor, Tortola, add in a fun day at Jost , or St. John, USVI..

Might be something to think about, and new and exciting adventures.

“Soon Come”.

I give zero odds of staying st BEYC overnight in a hotel like setting.

But, maybe dinner at the restaurant would be possible.

Yesterday all the work seemed to be on the restaurant. It appeared Saba had more construction going on than BEYC. But, if they bring in their own construction crew maybe it can be done much more quickly.

Little Dix Bay is on Schedule to open in Dec 2019, also the beach front property of Mango Bay resort as well ... Virgin Gorda getting back on its feet. Saba Rock and BEYC too, there are also many villas you can rent on VG... truly outstanding Island.
