Wonderful day in Anegada

Wonderful day in Anegada - 07/19/2019 11:18 AM

We arrived at the outer marker around 11am. Once inside I was very disappointed to see that the boatyball plague continues and has now spread to 10 bb. That's 10 less fcfs balls. In spite of bb, there were still many fcfs balls available for anyone that wanted one.

Soon thereafter, we went shore to the Wonky Dog to place our dinner order and then we moved the dinghy over to Potters.

We were looking for Kenny Francis. He runs horseback riding tours, a taxi and has a coffee shop at the foot of the pier. We purchased a dozen minature donuts of a variety of flavours. His donuts are really good and worth stopping by for.

Kenny took us to cow wreck for the afternoon. We went for a long walk on the beach and drifted in the water for a while. There is a lot of sargaso seaweed on the beach., but the water was pretty clear of it. I measured the water temperature at 90f. No hypothermia risk here.

After the walk on the beach, back to cow wreck for drinks. Later we went back to the dinghy dock for the trip back to Scuba Doo.

Dinner at the Wonky Dog is always amazing. We started with the firecracker shrimp and roasted garlic. Long time favourites. Then moved onto the lobster. The food and drink at the Wonky Dog always leaves us wanting to return.

Back at the boat now.

Very pleasant evening, lots of stars and moonlight.

The winds are light.

Sounds like a wonderful day Warren. We had a similar day a few weeks back where we rented mini mokes from L&H Rentals and visited Flash of Beauty for lunch, and then spent the afternoon chilling at Cow Wreck before dinner at the Wonky Dog. It was a very relaxing day - first time we had rented Mokes on Anegada but it was well worth it to get around the place with ease and they were fun to drive!

Let's see, Kenny's donuts, Cow Wreck Beach, dinner at Wonky Dog and then relaxing on the boat. Sounds rough Warren. I feel for you sir.

I'm not jealous at all.

It's not torrential rain here at all.

I didn't just get drenched walking the dog.

And I'm definitely not just about to light the log-burner.

Anegada schmanegada.

Nice here in DC at 100 degrees..would take rain or Setting Point breeze or being back in college but will have to settle for a painkiller

Have fun Warren

...I didn't say we didn't have painkillers! Log-burner pumping, t-storm hammering down over us but plenty of rum to keep us through until morning!

Done. But can’t come soon enough. We are having the same weather as Bailau. Very hot and no rain. Would love to feel the breeze on Anegada today. Have a great trip Warren.

Sounds awful! smile

Last year we somehow got grouped into shots (tequla I think but maybe whiskey?) with the owner and his father in law after dinner. Fun, fun night!

It's a shame how slippery the dock was that night though! I MUST have slipped off it as the dinghy moved and was dangling with my elbows on the dock, feet in the water and a crew laughing so hard they couldn't (or wouldn't) help me back up! Mutiny! Should have made them walk the plank!

Will you get to stay a couple nights? We love it there and always try to fit 2 in if we can.

Hope you're having a great time!

A Moke is a buggy version of a real Mini..created back in the early 60's (I had a 65)and built in the UK. Aus, Portugal..now a new company has bought the name and style( but not Mini..as in Mini Moke..now just Moke). You can see there website..Carib Mokes are sold out of St Barth's.
