Trunk Bay Tortola

Trunk Bay Tortola - 08/11/2019 08:58 PM

Happy Sunday everyone! We've been coming to the BVI for over 30 years and have done bareboating (LOVE IT!) many times and did the villa rental thing many times too. Love it all - BVI is our favourite place to be. In early 2020 we're looking at maybe renting Villa Soleil on Trunk Bay in Tortola. Has any one been in that area recently? We're wondering how the beach held up after Irma - and after 2 years is it back to it's beautiful self. Also does anyone know if there's a path to the beach from the villa and if so has anyone ever walked it?

thanks

I can't speak to the villa or it's path as I don't know which villa it is. Trunk bay is still very beautiful and one of my favorites. The beach is probably better than before with more sand and a much more gradual entry to the water.

The road was lost either in Irma or the August Monday flood in 2017 and has not been restored. After you make the last left turn to head down to the beach parking lot, the road is washed out about 30 yards down. You can walk from there to the old parking area and still hike thru to the beach but it's a much longer walk. It almost requires shoes. I have done it recently in flip flops but I don't recommend it. It's a bit treacherous and requires good balance. Don't plan to carry much other than a small cooler or back pack.
