Boatyball 21 Feb - 02/21/2020 04:36 PM

Tried again to enter the great boatyball lottery but this time at 6:55 AM could not even get into the boater app. All other websites working great. Appears boatyballs server so jammed up it would not allow additional logins. I guess now you need to get up at 6AM and get logged in to compete in the 7AM lottery.

Probably best to go over to the Boatyball facebook site and review it there....or if at Cooper go to Trip Advisor and review Cooper there.

BVI Abroad on Facebook has a couple of long strings as well

Here you will only get us all on "double secret probation"

Discuss here, fine. But do so in a civil manner, without insults to anyone involved.

May I suggest rather than shut down any string which reappears less than 4 hours later maybe discuss with the minority of individuals involved in ad hominem attacks the issues with the statements with the ultimate resolution of pulling their posting privileges?

this is a really helpful and great site and appreciate your efforts in keeping it on point...

You assume that there have been no private discussions. Threads that are pages and pages long become unwieldy regardless. Anyone that thinks running this board is easy should try it sometime.

Isn’t BB part of the Caribbean’s experience. I read in JAMA that it lowers blood pressure

Not a chance at that.

Carol, I'm sure that running this board is not easy and I wouldn't want to do it. But over the years of reading some of your posts, I feel that you could be less snippy and a little kinder.
It's just as easy to say something with a smile than with an edge. smile Hope I don't get banned from this board because I really enjoy it.

frankly I just don't read the posts re: that which will not be named. But one observation and one suggestion

Changes to the bb procedures would be informative for those who want to try it. But the daily complaints are just of no value.

But really... there are fewer moorings at the moment, and huge fleets of charterers. The two biggest issues are Great Harbor, Jost, and Cooper? (not sure about Anegada) If that is correct I will just say they have ALWAYS been problematic, over crowded, and hard to get into. If you wanted to get there in high season with FCFS you just had to be there early in the day. There are many other sites available, and more will be opening up. Get over it.

And yes, I am grumpy because we are no longer sailing....

For someone who claims not to read the BB posts you are well versed on the issues. How can that be?
