Moorings 514PC

Moorings 514PC - 05/11/2021 06:15 AM

First time on a 514PC and wondering what inside tips anyone may have.

Of the four cabins, the port forward cabin seems to be best due to the access to the fore peak which could be used for additional storage. The front berths are listed as 3” narrower than those in the aft but the length of the window seems to more than make up for that.

My wife feels she will love the sitting area just in front of the salon but again ... open to thoughts/comments/tips about all things 514PC related.

Great boat...frequent flyer on it. My wife likes front cabin as she likes to sleep and I like to get up early and start the engines...:)

The cushion area in front of the flying bridge is great for sitting

If you are going to run the generator for AC, be prepared to vibrate all night in the forward cabins. I now always sleep in one of the stern cabins.

Thanks for the replies ... so engine noise in the aft cabins and generator noise in the forward cabins ... hmmm?

Is there an advantage size-wise or other with regard to fore and aft cabins? Are the heads the same in all four cabins?

Chances are you will have generator running and not engines unless you married someone that likes to wake up at the crack of noon...:)

Generator is forward Starboard side...

awesome boat...eating and socializing up top is great. Dinghy remote elevator is great upgrade. Very roomy

Are you captaining it?

I am very pumped about the 514, then I saw the new 534 ... that beam must be 14’-16’. Yes, I will captain the boat for the trip and am currently planning our itinerary. We are traveling in early June

Jason is correct as to beam...you can turn perfect circles with it...

Have people on your boat watch the boat briefing with you

we will be JUN 14 - JUN 28

I have the owners manual if you want it

The 534 is going to be a very nice boat. Unlike the 51 which was based on the 4800 sailing cat the 53 is a ground up design as a powercat. It does not share anything with the M5000. Cruising range with stock fuel is almost 2000 miles on one engine. 1300 on two engines and it can be pushed up to 25 knots. That’s probably not good news in the BVI as they will be hauling butt through mooring fields! Idle in Mooring fields please!!!

Maybe they will let me upgrade then...:)

I will be curious as to whether there is more demand for boats in June with the new favorable vaccinated traveler protocols or less due to the less favorable unvaccinated traveler protocols.

They just hired some staff back which is good
