Dropped into CGB about 11 this morning. We were the only boat here on arrival something that has never happened before in all my years of sailing here! G
I was alone off Prickly Pear this morning as well, now it is crowded with one other boat anchored in front the Sand Box. I stocked up with emergency provisions at Leverick Bay this morning, just in case I can't get out and there's a total lockdown (3 cases of Red Stripe, 4 apples and some shredded cheese plus some eggs). Tonight I'll get out the pizza flour and the yeast to make some dough for tomorrow's Margherita Pizza. The wine selection in Leverick is quite low - most of the wines are reduced to just their "demo" bottle.
If you will be in the SFD tomorrow I would donate to you a ice maker! Not sure I will have room to take it home. Paid 120 for it and got 3 charters out of it. Worth every dime!
Thanks for the offer - I wouldn't know what to do with an icemaker I just took a dinghy trip around the north sound. Apart from a couple of charter boats moored at Leverick Bay, there are NO boats in the north sound! The new Saba Rock looks fantastic but the Bitter End is still very much a work-in-progress.
There are some things I have not seen before in CDB. Noted some extremely expensive brand new cars being driven by young males. In addition there was a new powerboat with two 400 HP engines running around CDB including right into the swim area to beach the boat by the Elm several times. They just left again and had the boat up to at least 40 mph before they left the swim area with lots of people in the water! A friend who is a long term drug cop said they have drug dealing written all over them. The BVI is changing!
We're spending the night at CGB and the same boat was still blasting in and out. Couple that with loud motorcycles going down the road and CGB is not the peaceful place of years past.
