Bringing in wine ?

Bringing in wine ? - 12/17/2021 03:46 PM

Besides all the Covid related stuff .....

The wife cannot find her favorite wine at any the usual places.
Thinking of bringing in a case. (She has a nice wine travel bag)

We are flying into EIS.
What should we expect at customs?

Thanks

They may charge some duty but I don't think it's an issue.

What is she looking for?

Used to be a staple for us. Pretty sure I used to see it at Tico's but haven't noticed it lately.

We bring in half a case or so just about every time we charter. We've never had an issue. We just declare the value, and pay the fees (assuming they charge any).

The only thing I would worry about is the baggage handlers in SJU needing it for personal use.

Been bringing in wine for decades. Never a problem. Never a fee.
