Car rental for over 65 year olds - 03/19/2023 09:05 PM

Hello. Just reading that in St. Lucia they won’t allow anyone to rent a car if they’re 65 years old or older. Is there any policy like this in the British Virgin Islands? Thank you.

The original poster asked about the BVI, not St. John.

LOCAL SAILOR: the Cool Breeze website content for St. John was just copied over from their St. Lucia policy website policy page. I was in a thread re: St. John and this was a pretty big discussion. So on St. John you can rent from Cool Breeze if over 65 but not their St. Lucia location.

You can rent a car in St. Lucia if you are over 65, you just need a letter from your doctor stating that you are capable. Not all rental companys follow this policy, I stopped at one in Rodney Bay last week to see if there was a special form and they lady said she just goes by whether the driver looks capable. Check with whatever company you may be considering and see if they have a form or require it at all.
