Princess Heights - 01/01/2015 08:08 PM

Has anyone stayed at Princess Heights? We usually stay on the Dutch side at Royal Palm, Flamingo or similar properties but Princess Heights look interesting. We usually meet friends for dinner on the Dutch side and have never stayed in the Oyster Pond area.

So-any comments on Princess Heights and how is the drive from Simpson Bay to Oyster Pond? Thanks in advance for any comments or thoughts.

We stayed there last yr. and really enjoyed it. The staff were great and the drive was not bad at all. Our grown sons enjoyed a little gambling at the Westin and we enjoyed the beach and bar over there a couple of times. I would stay there again.

Princess Heights has been our winter home for several years. We arrive on Jan. 12th for a seven week stay. The property is very well run with very friendly and helpful staff. Suites are fully furnished well kept and if you opt for a one or two bedroom unit, you will have a fully equiped kitchen. Studios have a kitchenette. Building one has no elevator, so you need to be able to climb stairs.

We enjoy the Oyster Pond area as it has a "residential" feel, but also plenty of fun bars and restaurants to eat out. If you enjoy Orient it is only a 15 min drive with little traffic. Easy drive also to Grand Case.

The property itself is beautiful and always gets wonderful reviews. Of course it's not ON a beach and to me, I think it's a bit of a drive at night to Simpson Bay.

Yes Carol, to get back to Simpson Bay could take anywhere from 30 mins to over an hour depending on time of day and traffic. We rarely go to SB in the evening as we find all the variety of restaurants we need in Oyster Pond. It is a quiet area so it is very much personal preference for us to stay there.

The OP said that he normally meets friends in Simpson Bay for dinner, so perhaps PH is not a good fit for him. When you stay somewhere for several weeks, versus 10 days or so, priorities are a bit different, for sure.
