Just found a direct leaving out of Newark $518. Good price or should I hold off. 4/24 - 5/2

If you can live with the price, buy it!

I've never paid over 480 lol. Will keep looking. Have to fly direct as having a hip replacement 2/25. That gives me 8 weeks to rest

I just did a search on their website and said flexible on dates, but 4/24 - 5/2 came up at $499

We were able to book 429 out of EWR at the end of February, nearly $200 less than out of PHL with a connection. For end of April, I'd wait until mid February to see if it dips.

AXD, good luck with the hip. My daughter had both done last January and they had her up and moving the next day. By end of March she was doing great!

Personally, I would buy. That means the fare is around $400 plus taxes. With United sending smaller planes and no longer offering daily flights out of EWR, the supply/demand curve favors the airline. Waiting may save you $50, but could also mean the fare jumping up $100 if enough people buy at $518. IMO it is a lot of risk to wait for little reward. For a reference point, the cheapest fare I have found on United nonstop out of DC this year is $620.
