A pointless posting - 01/12/2015 01:43 PM

Just needed to mention the number 36. I so need a vacation. Feb 17 here I come!

Here's a thought to make this less pointless - best activities for my late teen early 20s sons? We're planning on Pinel and Lotterie farm, what else? (Kim and I don't want to do all that much to tell you the truth, but have to show the boys a good time)

12 Meter Yacht races. Active involvment. Good for young muscles.

Yes, absolutely take them on the 12-Metre yachts. Do it early in the trip; they may want to go back!

And of course, Maho to see the planes; try to pick a day with no ships in.

While I don't know where you're staying - there's always the obvious - a day or two on Orient Beach. Jet skiing, parasailing, water trampoline and whatever else they might enjoy.

And I agree re the 12 metre boats and would also suggest zip-lining. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Do your sons dive like you? If yes then go diving. If not perhaps a discover scuba dive.

I'll second the 12metre regatta... and I dove with aquamania in august. there were a lot of beginners... so if you're diving (just guessing from your pic) I'd take them...

We are big sailors at home. Both boys kind of hate sailing on principal. After all, since I am the stupidest man on earth, anything I like has to be stupid, no?

We will likely dive a couple of times, and we are staying on Orient, so time on the beach there is a given. Ziplining at Lotterie Farm, check. We get there Tuesday so our first event is Grand Case in the evening; I have always enjoyed the street festival.

It actually sounds like we are in fact busy.

Perhaps they could incorporate their sailing and wind knowledge into kite surfing! Making sailing their own, much the way snowboarders altered skiing. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

Stand up paddle board, surfing.

Actually I was thinking that windsurfing might be a good idea also but was too lazy to look up the website. Thanks for posting.

Most are making suggestions for daytime, but since they are 20, maybe finding a good Happy Hour where there are some young females might make them happy campers. La Bamba on Sunday night is full of young women for the boys to test out their libidos. Hanging at the Dinghy Dock might be fun for them too. There is a big t.v that Seth has sports on that they could enjoy. Buccaneer Bar, Lagoonies on Friday night, etc

Good point. In my mind they're still 8.

One issue with that--you said that you're staying at Orient. Unless you're going to go along with them--which kind of negates them meeting younger people--they will have to take a cab, or you will need to put them down as drivers on your car rental contract.

The highlight of our first trip for our then nineteen year old daughter was being able to go into a bar legally.
