Will someone please reassure my wife Sue and our friend JoAnne that topless is perfectly acceptable on the non node part of Orient Beach. They don't believe me.
Yes, absolutely acceptable but verbal assurances will have to do as photographic ones would get me in trouble. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" /> My wife has gone to Orient for the day without a top; no problems at all.

I am so surprised to see that at Royal Palm as it is on the rules list at the pool. However, I have gone topless on orient when my mom and I came on a cruise shore excursion. Other cruise passengers followed after they knew it was fine. Tell your wife topless is fine. Seize the moment!

Was at the beach, not the pool. Doubt they read the rules.
Came back to the USA on Saturday but was there the previous two weeks. Typically camp out on the CO end of the beach but walk the entire beach at least once a day. (have to get some movement from the beach chair) The first week of May, I was surprised that on several days there were about 25% of the females on the non-CO end of the beach that were topless. Normally I would estimate around 10 or 15% on a good day. Depending on the number of ships and the type of ships, the numbers of topless females will very greatly.
Have seen topless at every beach on the island at one time or another. Numbers will very from day to day, season to season and what is going on.
Just enjoy and be respectfull of the locals. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" />
It varies, depending on the time of day. Some say it is OK if done early in the morning. Some say not to do it at all. I would say, try it early before the beach gets any people on it, but carry a coverup just in case.
I agree with Bobinmobile - if there are a lot of local families with children or if it is a big family holiday like Easter, use a little more modesty. That said, I've seen topless at just about at every beach on the island.
I agree.....i think topless is pretty much acceptable at any of the island beaches. The locals are pretty tolerant of it also. Seems like the only complainers are some of the ''prudish'' Americans. There is a big difference between topless and nude.

Sorry- My reply was to Carlos II about nude walks on Orient in the A.M. To the OP, Topless seems to be widely accepted on just about any beach on the French side.
