Welcome aboard.

We're quite a family here. Sometimes we quibble and sometimes we squabble, but over-all, I think the intention of all members is to help those with questions, and to share our love, knowledge and opinions of this whacky, crazy, wonderful island.

Yes pat!!! I see you post a lot.. Certainly those that have frequented the Island for many years realize the changes... But all in all, It is our home away from home... Older now, not loving putting on a bathing suit, but it is what it is. Ha

"It is what it is" has been my mantra for years. Glad you joined this board <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />- your experiences could help so many not as familiar with the island. Even though I've been visiting for 30 years, there's always something new to learn.

I'll add my welcome to you. We've been going to SXM for about the same length of time but are not fortunate enough to own a home there. As stated, we like to think the "give and take" on this board makes it worthwhile.
Look forward to exchanging thoughts about our favorite place.

Welcome to this forum. Each member makes an important contribution to our little paradise. Although it has really changed over the years, we still love it.

We, too, welcome a newbie who sounds like us. Our first trip was in 1984 but now visit every May/June via a Timeshare. Am a bit envious of those of you who live on island or are close enough for several trips each year. It is not easy coming from TX to SXM!
I have found this Forum to be very nice and helpful for keeping up on "what's happening" on our home away from home. We haven't had the chance or made arrangements to meet any of you but would love to do so.
Thank you for your excellent posts.

Welcome. As Carol said, the Board is for giving and receiving information about our favorite place. Hope to meet you at my annual "SXM Lovers Get Together" in February.

We always welcome Sunshine! Is your home on the French or Dutch side? Our friends have said for many years that we too should buy a place on St. Martin, but with all our children and grandchildren closeby in the states, it will continue to be our yearly, or in some cases bi-yearly, retreat. And, we always enjoy the sunshine!

Our home was built on land we purchased in the keys..There were very few homes there when we built, and have seen most land on hill over the years purchased.. Lots of maintenece as we do not live there, but we rent two apts. that at least pay some of the cost. Would we do it again? no... all the problems that occur are ours, and we are older now, and need less worrys... Made friends, but most come and go. I would only recommend buying if its your full time home but good to get out of pa god awlful winters...

Thanks. I have never heard of Pelican Key being called "the keys", and I lived there on Jade Road.
