El Zafiro - 02/13/2016 01:31 PM

Anyone been to El Zafiro lately? Just wondering if they have expanded their menu yet and if any further improvements have been made.

We were there on Thursday, serving breakfast and lunch. Did not eat, but talking to others said food was pretty good. Anthony, the bartender, said due to the neighbors, they are not allowed to serve past 6, and also no music after that either.... great place to relax during the day as not over crowded

I'm thinking, unbeknown to either of us, we 'shared a few lunches' there back in December when they still had the very limited menu so good to hear they've expanded it and offering breakfast makes it even better! As I recall December, they hadn't quite finished the bar then but were very close, and the lunch menu board only had 4-5 offerings but they were all very good, particularly the Caesar Salad!

I do want them to succeed and do well but, truthfully and perhaps selfishly, I hope they don't reach the Karakter level of popularity. Too many beach loungers too close together and music played too loud take some of the pleasure away, but that's just my personal opinion. I guess there are those who enjoy being that close on the beach but we don't count ourselves in that category.

Pat, that's quite possible. I was in SXM through December 16. I was at El Zafiro with Monique and Chris one day and then by myself on other days.

It might very well have been the day Monique was there on her day off. We visited with her a bit before we settled in for the day, and then we were the next two chairs over from her. We headed home on the 12 or the 13 and now the wait until April seems like forever.....

If you happen to know where Beachside Villas is located, El Zafiro is the last driveway on the right (waterside since the runway for the airport will be on your left....) before the entrance gate to BSV. It is very, very easy to find.
