One of our favorite restaurants, and particularly on a starry Tuesday evening when you can dine outside and really enjoy the scents and sounds of the island.

How was the filet? Looks like the end cut off a full filet. Sometimes they can be a little gristly.

We had dinner there Friday evening. I had rack of lamb and my husband had a lamb shank special. We ended with the dessert sampler with 2 spoons. Simply divine. The whole meal was fabulous with perfect service and attitude. Definitely a winner!

Moulin & L'Auberge in GC were owned by the same people, unless one was sold.

The filet was fine but a little undercooked for hubby.

toothdoc - I was going to have the lamb but the scallops had been recommended. I love lamb but hate lamb shanks!

Dick,

Moulin Fou is in the Maho complex, up the hill and directly behind Cheri's, which is why we go on Tuesdays when Cheri's is closed. It is just before LaRosa Too if you're familiar with that. They offer outdoor dining but I find it more pleasant when we don't have to listen to Cheri's entertainment as background music. Any other day of the week we dine inside. It's not an inexpensive dinner but it's so very worth the money as the food is delicious and the service outstanding. We generally park in either of the carparks in the area and often, after we eat we stop at the Casino Royale for a few minutes, which is usually how long it takes us to make our donation.

Pat--especially since you're going to the casino after, why don't you use the valet parking at Casino Royale?? Much more convenient than a garage!! $5 or so for a tip, well worth it to me!

Good question and I guess I just never thought about it. Besides, those ramps at the Maho carparks are almost as good as a roller coaster ride for one more after dinner great high!

And where else in the world would you be able to aim your car down a steep tight ramp straight at where they store explosive gas containers? Lol
It cracks me up.

I am always a little nervous driving in parking garages, so any opportunity I have to NOT do that, I take.

Every time we come down that ramp, unprompted and unprovoked, we both comment simultaneously and out loud, "only in St. Maarten!"

We ate there for the first time in November after 20 visits to the island. It was a wonderful dining experience from the service, quality of food and the ambience. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back. I too had the shrimp and scallops with leek sauce. YUMMY!

I shall have to think about trying it next time also. Always good to have an option for French food close to 'home'.

Le Moulin Fou has been one of our faves on the island for years and years. It is on par with anything on Grand Case, and as Pat mentioned...Tuesday night is GREAT time to go when Cheri's is closed. Quiet, romantic, and the service is always Top Notch!!!!!! If your hubby would've told them it was a bit too rare, they would've been more than happy to correct the situation. Another benefit of the restaurant is the home made rums at the end......mmmmmmm.
