Timeshare mini storage

Timeshare mini storage - 04/28/2016 02:39 AM

If you have had trouble with contacting Laura her email was down. Not sure how long but I emailed her two days ago to have my box delivered next week and never heard back. Phoned her and it was determined her email was not working to receive or send. It is now fixed. For you regulars it's a great service and inconvenience to have a storage box to store stuff you use on island. Delivered and picked up at your room.

I'm sure you meant it is a great CONVENIENCE, not inconvenience. I wouldn't use it myself, but I'm sure there are those here who would appreciate her contact information and the price and other particulars of her service.

Yes, I meant convenience. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'll edit it. Web site is www.timeshareministorage.com Local phone number is 267-373-7000 Price is 150 a year which includes one pick up and delivery. Slight charge for additional pick up and deliveries if going multiple times. Box is quite large and is lockable with your own locks. Serves our needs perfectly as we can leave items on island that we only would use there. This year we are taking a mini Keurig to leave in our box. We stay for four weeks so it's nice to have items that most condo's don't provide.

JerseyPal, when do you arrive on island? We get in May 7 at 11:22 am. Dave and Cheryl are coming in same day this time as she doesn't have to contend with working Mothers Day.

OK, thanks for the website. I personally wouldn't use it, but I know people have posted questions regarding such a service in the past.

Wasn't able to edit my prior post. Edit choice doesn't show but you know what I meant.

Posts are only editable for a short period of time.. I knew what you meant, yes, but you seem to always point out to others when they make a mistake..

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/28/2016 04:06 PM

Now why did you have to go there? I thanked you for bringing it to my attention and just wanted to know why the Edit was gone. Thanks for the clarification on Editing timing.

Just pointing out to you what you do all the time to other people, so that perhaps you will think a little harder about it next time.

Perhaps because she does not own a timeshare? While it is a good service for some, it is something I would have no use for either.

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/28/2016 04:59 PM

Don't have to own a timeshare to use this service. They will deliver to any resort, villa, private residence or what ever. The benefit is to have the stuff there without having to check over and back on the airlines.

I never said you did or did not, you titled the post to reflect it was for "Timeshare mini storage".

I am sure it is a valuable service to some, just like "owner's closets" at some of the timeshares. It is just not anything that would be of interest to myself but sharing the information is good for those who have interest.

For $150/year, I could ship or airline check a lot of stuff back and forth IF I needed it.

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/28/2016 05:14 PM

OK. The reason it was titled the way it was, is because that is the name of the business.

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/28/2016 05:24 PM

Which could or would lead people to believe it was for timeshare owners specifically.

In looking at their website, it is an absentee owner (company based in PA) and for around $160 you get one (1) 16x16x30 container. Anything that will not fit (chairs, umbrellas, etc.) in the container are at an additional charge or a 2nd container is $99. While it is a good concept, it is not cheap and I bet you could ship the same container back and forth for less $$.

It is all about convenience and if it works for you, that is fine. I am sure some will find it a good service while others would not have any need for it.

It's all about convenience. You'd be surprised at all you can get in that box.

Part of the response I received.

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/28/2016 08:45 PM

I have a very good relationship with one of the maids at our timeshare and for what it's worth, she holds a standard sized airline roll-aboard bag of mine year round. She brings it to the resort so its there for me on the day of arrival and takes it home with her again the day I depart, and for a lot less than the figures quoted by the aforementioned business. She is very happy with the arrangement and so am I.

I know she doesn't have any insurance but there's absolutely nothing in the bag I would be sad about losing if that were to happen and certainly, nothing of any significant value. I pay her each time she brings the bag and each time she takes it away again. Works for me and has for about the last ten to twelve years or so.....and I know she appreciates the little bit of extra income it generates for her as well. I'd far rather give the money to the maids than to an organized business that I don't know and I know the maid appreciates it.

A good deal for both of you.

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/28/2016 09:44 PM

I used to use a person on island and paid him on delivery and again on pickup. It just got to be to difficult to coordinate days and time with him. That is why we went with this service last year. They are there when they say they will be. To each their own. I just know I'm happy with the way this is going. Pats arrangement is a good one as long as the maid is still around but there was no guarantees the one I used in the past was either.

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/28/2016 10:34 PM

Scuba,

We all need to do what works best for our individual wants and needs.

The maids at the Towers, for the most part, have been there ever since it opened so no problems there. And the alliances they have with each other is an additional benefit because if our maid is off, she has a friend take care of us. We like this particular service because they have access to the names and dates of incoming guests and put the case in our room for us and take it home with them on the departure day.

Many have discussed the type of service you're using so I'm glad to learn there is one but as I said earlier, I personally prefer to support our resort maids as they are a great bunch of women and appreciate the extra income.

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/28/2016 11:31 PM

I'm not disagreeing with you. You've got a great arrangement and it works for you. For others that don't have that option this service is a perfect alternative for them. As for supporting the local people, the people that make the deliveries and pick ups are locals getting paid for what they do along with the rental of the locally owned storage area for these boxes.

Yes, but if you bought beach items (floats, chairs pads, etc) small charcoal grill, medical necessities (c-pac machine) noise machine for sleep, etc then it's very much worth it. Heck, if I didn't go up & down then up again in weight I'd leave all my clothes there just so I'd have no baggage !

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/29/2016 01:36 PM

And all of that, including chairs, pads, floats and a small grill will go into a 16 x 16 x 30 container?

Like with many things, it is a personal choice and if it works for you that is what matters.

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/30/2016 04:58 PM

That's right. It's a personal choice just like people that use the shop and drop service. Not for everybody but it's great for some. Your going to pay a little more but it's not always about the price. It's about about service and convenience.

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/30/2016 08:09 PM

No disagreement here.

Perhaps they should advertise?

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 04/30/2016 08:33 PM

They have flyers at most all resorts. That is how I found out about it last year. You or Carol could contact them to become a sponsor. Not my call to make.

Re: Timeshare mini storage - 05/07/2016 10:10 PM

I'm impressed with this service. I requested our box to be delivered at four today and right at four the door bell rang and there was Bob with our box. No such thing as island time with this business. Glad I'm using them.
