Saturday Night and Sunday

Saturday Night and Sunday - 07/25/2016 12:17 AM

So, after settling in yesterday we did go to the pool bar for some Happy Hour. Very enjoyable. Decided on Rancho for dinner. 3 of us had Rib Eye and Carol had Petite Filet. Thought the meal was terrific.

This morning we were up early for coffee on the balcony and watched Adventure of the Seas cruise by. We went into Phillipsburg for Mass and then went to St. Martin Yacht Club for a late breakfast. Hung out there for a while. The Fresh OJ Screwdriver for me and a Bloody for Grace.

Back to Towers for some more balcony and breezes time. And the Pool for some swimming reading and Happy Hour. Have I mentioned how relaxed we all are? Off to Skipjacks for dinner. Love love Skipjacks.

Just back and about to open some wine and enjoy a bit more balcony and breezes.

Grace and Rick,

We had a lovely dinner at Rancho back in April so I'm happy to know our experience wasn't just good luck on our part. You're enjoying many of our favorites so good to know its all worked out for you.

Please, as you pass the front desk, give our best regards to the ladies there and to Shirley, the regular maid who services the unit, too. Over the years we've come to really appreciate the friendship and the integrity of the ladies who take care of us there. And not to forget James and Natalia and Nat out at the bar.

I'm so very glad you're enjoying the Towers and 709. Wishing you a wonderful stay over the rest of your time.

Pat. We will say hi. Saturday and yesterday we met Sasha behind the bar. She is starting vacation today so we will see who we meet next.

We hadn't been to Rancho in quite a while and we always liked it in the past. Sometimes Ina hurry to try something new, we forget something old that we liked.

Last night at Skipjacks we had Tuna Carpachio and Grouper Fingers as apps. For main meal Grace and I had Pan Seared Yellow Fin and Carol and Rob had Seafood Kabobs.

As I said, after dinner we came back here and drank wine on the balcony. So darned relaxed its scary. Today we are off to El Zafiro for our first time.

Life is Good Today (and every day)

Both of the ladies are great! Bartenders with both personality and a good sense of humor. We enjoyed ElZafiro each time we were there so for us, it was also a very good find. Enjoy it, as I'm sure you will.

We love Rancho, as well! Always good - if you're in the mood for something other than steak or seafood, the lasagne is excellent.

Is the bar at the Towers open to non-residents?

RicknGrace, we had the Tuna Carpachio at Skip Jacks last week and it was excellent, as was the rest of our meal. We take their crab cakes back to the boat and love them

Yes it is.

As Wendy said, it is open to anyone who wants to buy a drink but it is definitely NOT a 'destination' bar and you never know what they're going to be out of on any given afternoon. The two gals who work there are very pleasant but the parking is a stretch from the parking area to the building itself and then the sidewalk out to the pool. Happy hour is (or was back in April...) from three to six and most drinks are two for one. And even with the negatives, the view is lovely.

A different and fun way to attend mass. And the priest kept me interested for a rather long sermon.
