Wind and water at Club O

Wind and water at Club O - 12/27/2016 04:33 PM

For the last week or so it looks overcast and windy at Club O, the water looks very high, almost up to the Perch, plus I see very few umbrellas open. Has the weather not been the greatest or is the web cam deserving me?

Webcam is deceiving you. We've been at club o since Christmas. It's been sunny with Christmas tradewinds, and a couple bursts of rain that last a few minutes.
There are plenty of devoted sun worshippers, like myself, who don't use an umbrella. It's funny, my wife, Peaches uses 100 spf and must have an umbrella--I use 4spf and don't like the umbrella. Anyway, it's a challenge to arrange our lounge chairs sometimes. That explains the lack of open umbrellas.

We've been wondering the same thing. We were at Club O from 11/14 to 12/12 and until the end, the weather was great. Breezy, but not abnormally so. Starting 12/11 the wind was really blowing. We ate at Papagayo that night and Carlo greeted us with a comment about how he wasn't responsible for the wind. Granted it was a Sunday night, but there were only about five other tables occupied at 7:00.

I understand the "Christmas Winds", but it does seem worse than in recent years. The flag by Perch had been missing for a few days now. If it wasn't taken down, it may be somewhere in Marigot.

Are there enough people to play volleyball? We arrive Dec 30. Hoping to have a few games.

The beach cam on the Club O website actually points AWAY from the main part of the resort's beach. What you are looking at is the final hundred feet or so of Club O property before you get to Pedro's. The vast majority of the club O beach and property is behind the camera to the right...

The managers do not aim the camera at the main part of the beach to protect guests' privacy... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />
