Delta Comfort Class - 01/17/2017 04:50 PM

Questions for anyone who has flown Delta Comfort Class: I know beverages are complimentary, but is food available, or can we bring our own? Talking about a 4 hour flight from JFK to SXM.
Thanks!!!

They do have food available for purchase in that class...

Just flew Delta comfort+ down MDT to SXM a couple weeks ago.
Unlimited snacks and drinks but not free meal service.
Will fly same Saturday going home.

Last year there were "upgraded" snacks and they were a little more willing to pass them out. Nothing spectacular but the drinks were nice. One tip I would offer, order two at a time!! It is in no way 1st class but it is a nice upgrade from coach for not too much money.

No problem taking your own food either. If you plan on ordering food on the plane, I would do it early in the flight as they often run out.

We usually bring a sandwich with us from home, but it will be nice to have a couple of "adult" beverages with it! This will be our first time flying Delta, have usually done Jet Blue. Also booked Delta's Comfort Class for the trip to LA and from FLL to SYR.

I did the Delta Comfort from ATL to SXM last year and enjoyed it. They have changed it some this year as you have to book the entire outbound or inbound routing in Comfort and not specific legs of your trip. For a little more than coach, especially on a 4 hour flight, I thought it was worth it.

I much prefer Delta to AA/USAir. Immigration in CLT was a mess every time I flew through there and even with ALT being big, it seemed to work a lot smoother. The past 3 years Delta has had a better connection and also price in my case.

Our March trip is all Delta Comfort Class. FLL to SYR (with a stop at JFK) is also Delta Comfort Class. Still looking at SYR to LAX in October. Rates are crazy, fluctuating all the time. Sunday I found $300p/p and today it's $747 total. I'll keep looking!

We also flew Delta last year and found it far better than USAir/american.
This year we booked in July for DEC/JAN vacation and got upgraded to comfort+ when they dropped their fares by more than $300/ticket later last year.
We will do comfort+ for future travel since you board early and are assured your carry on is above your seat (we don't check baggage even though 1bag is free with comfort+)

Oct rates for Delta are still high. I'm looking for PVD to TUS and they're in the $700's. Re:Delta Comfort, Don usually sits there & he likes the extra room but I can book the exit row for myself which has even more leg room. I get plenty of drink coupons from Delta so free drinks are not a concern & the "upgraded snacks" are nothing special. I still prefer the Bischoff cookies over a bite sized Snickers or banana.

We only fly Delta and book only Delta Comfort. We both fly often so from Delta Comfort to First Class is a nice perk but if we are not upgraded Delta Comfort is certainly a step up.

You can certainly bring food on-board in Delta Comfort but the food for sale is usually pretty good.

Marybeth, I keep checking the October fares each day, and they haven't changed much, except going up a hair. Saturday was the cheapest I found . . .$300 a piece. Should have booked it then!
Are you heading to SXM soon?
