None that I can think of in our 40 years of eating in SXM. Except right turn out of P de P in a shopping center next to liquor store open for Breakfast and lunch good French food. Maybe someone else here knows the name. Also in that area Lagoonies.

Last year I had a very good meal at the Asian/sushi restaurant. It was a group of about eight, and we all enjoyed our meals. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name, but it was fairly close to Melange.

I have eaten at all of them except the new Boca (probably new name by now) and all have been very good. Of course I can’t remember names of any of them!!

The Italian restaurant at the entrance to the casino was always good. Usually go there at least once.

Let's see. No restrooms. Don't think I'd want to walk underneath that.

It goes up and down all night.

I'm sorry, I just don't want anything to do with that thing, under any permutation. First, I'm scared of heights. Then, as someone said, no bathrooms. Then, it's SXM, I wonder how good the mechanics are. No thanks.....

You couldn’t pay me enough money to go up in that thing! The idea or possibility of lackadaisical construction and/or regular safety inspections done island style would terrify me. But I feel the same way about the Flying Dutchman, at least, I think that’s its’ name.

I feel the same. Feet on the ground at all times or under water.

It's a Canadian venture, and I know the on-island partner.

Wish him luck with venture but not for me.

I, for one, look forward to giving it a try.

I wouldn't like the idea of being up there and wanting to be back on the ground. What does it do---go up and down as people want to enter or leave?

Agreed!

Re: Port de Plaissance restaurants - 01/26/2020 02:24 PM

Linda--Please do give it a try and let us all know how it was, as I'm sure I won't experience it for myself! grin Totally scared of heights, even aside from any other issues.
