The Passagrahan never recovered from Irma. Was a great place.

We only stayed at the Passangrahan Hotel once for 3 or 4 nights but I have to say, it was one of our most memorable island stays. It was also the only time we ever ever stayed in P’Berg and I’m so very glad we did it at least that one time. The rooms were lovely and the staff couldn’t have been any more accommodating. It just had a special feel about it, IMHO.

I truly hope whomever ultimately ends up purchasing this lovely property manages to treat it with the love and respect it deserves as one of the few remaining pieces of island history.

That's so sad. I actually don't think I've ever been inside the hotel, although of course walked by many times. Hopefully they will be able to preserve the historic part of the structure, and get it restored..

It is lovely Carol. IF they are able to stay around, you should at least go have breakfast there sometime ... wink

It's still not a total touch and gone . Just spoke to the Daughter and time will tell.

BeachKitten--We are not big breakfast eaters on vacation, and rarely eat out for breakfast, home or away. If they are still there, I might try lunch there.

Lovely place. Just can't image its worth the auction price of over $7,000,000.00 or anybody would pay anything close to that. Just not much going on in town also, most everything has gone to Simpson Bay Area. A mess for both the lender and the current owners for sure but its a unfortunate sign of the times.

Lesley, I assume the daughter you mentioned is Surha. It's so sad to here about this and Skipjacks back to back. Did you happen to talk to her about Dennis?

Lesley, Sorry about the incorrect spelling. Dennis and Sarai were a couple and had a child together. I don't know that they ever married. This was about 7-8 years ago and they split up a couple of years after that but still remained friends . Dennis was the manager at Skipjack's.

I thought Jim was the manager at Skipjack's.

Okay Big Daddy , thanks for the correction and haven't seen him for awhile , but she is okay and has opened a Lounge for evening hang outs . We will wait and see how it goes, because the Mom is not stupid.

Lesley, I agree that Sarai is very bright and also one of the loveliest women I have ever met on the island.

Scuba dude, Jim would be glad to hear that you thought he was the manager.
