Wow, doesn't look like one can get to the water easily, that's for sure!! Glad the wind has calmed down for you though.

Yes the wind has died down and the beaches are busy as well. BUT the picture taken by WVTCTE looks like a lot of seaweed and rocks on the beach. We just came back from a nice swim at SUNSET BEACH and both the beach and water was perfect. No Sargassum Seaweed today.

What beach are you referring to as SUNSET BEACH?

I was wondering about that, too, since a previous poster suggested Maho Beach was down to bare rocks and no sand. I'm thinking perhaps "Sunset Beach" refers to another location?

Maho beach stretches all the way from Sonesta/RIC La Plage over to Sunset BB. EdB was previously referring to the section over by RIC La Plage which has now disappeared and the sand has washed out exposing the rocks. The Maho beach end over by Sunset BB is very wide and in great shape, but that could change in a day.

Yes you are correct as I was referring to Maho Beach between Driftwood Bar and Sunset Beach Bar.

That makes more sense now. That beach has always been called Maho Beach and still is.

The beach in front of Royal Islander and Sonesta is still Maho beach, but the end near Sonesta/RI was gone yesterday, lots of the sand ended up by Sunset. It will return.

Beach from Cupecoy Beach Club to Ocean Club. Beach at Danys is non existent (where the first pic is).

Looks awesome Kim, we were just in Playa Del Carmen and while it is Caribbean clear water and nice sand it just isn't the same as SXM beach and sea.
