Haha, two years ago we sailed out of Oyster Pond and the Captain said he hoped the government removed the rest of these wrecks soon. Island time!

Good to see they are finally doing this. I assume there are still a bunch of wrecks in the lagoon also?

There is quite a big operation going on the Dutch side to remove wrecks from the lagoon. A huge tug, two barges, a variety of cranes, and what looks like a shredding machine set up just northwest of the roundabout at the end of the runway for processing the fibreglass vessels. Looks like they're getting chopped up and the bits loaded into shipping containers. It's only three and a half years that these hazards to navigation have been laying around.

Of course the French side, bless their lackadaisical hearts, will be another three years getting their sh*t together.

Ritchard--that's good news, as far as the Dutch side of the lagoon.

Wonder if the Dutch and French EVER decided where the boundry in Oyster Pond was and when the wreckage of Captain Olivers can proceed.

The last I remember seeing was that it is still being negotiated by the Dutch and French governments in Europe. Might be on the agenda for this summer?
