Some Invests coming off Africa

Two systems are moving towards the Lesser Antilles... a little early to tell if either one will develop?

According to all reports they are pretty much non events. Rain is all.

1. Disorganized showers and thunderstorms continue in association with
a tropical wave located over the tropical Atlantic, about 850 miles
east of the Lesser Antilles. Some slow development of this
disturbance is possible later this week and this weekend while the
system moves westward to west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph, likely
reaching the Lesser Antilles by Wednesday night.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.

2. Shower activity associated with a tropical wave located about 800
miles southwest of the Cabo Verde islands has become a little
better organized since yesterday. Additional slow development of
this system is possible during the next several days as it moves
generally west-northwestward at about 20 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.

When you are hoping for beach days during your final days on island, rain isn't welcome. Yes, I know the island needs it. I'm being selfish.

It's the tropics and to be expected this time of year. Unfortunate but it is what it is.

Forecasts have this storm way south of SXM... enjoy,! The first system is weak and just brought you a few clouds today.
The second system is tracking towards Barbados...

In reality, we had lots of heavy rain yesterday.

Pretty sure the people who are actually on the island know what the system brought them....

The second one is now a named storm, Elsa, and looks to pass well to the south of SXM tomorrow, although the current path has it headed into south Florida!

Exactly! And today is starting out much as yesterday did: cloudy and very windy. We'll see if rain comes in the afternoon.

I'm faring well on the deck, and yesterday I discovered the hammock! Out and about, not so much.

I spend a lot of time on our deck at Beachside. Hope things quiet down there with the rain.

Two years ago, there was a storm out of Africa a week before we landed. For a few days the waves were HUGE in front of Beachside Villa's!! Thank God it didn't last .

We basically didn't even hear the ocean over top of the a/c, on our just completed trip. For the most part, the waves were very low.

Friday we spent the entire day on Baie Longue, able swim but it was getting rough. Just a few rain drops. Today (Saturday) don’t think there will be much swimming. It’s beautiful out. But waves are getting wicked!!

Yes, sounds like a good day to stay OUT of the water!
