Sounds like it potentially will get interesting on the French Side in August...and how does a visitor get a "Health Pass"?

It's a really tough call!! Liberty is key, but today, you just don't know WHO is carrying this bomb!! IMHO, it's simple, get vaccinated, keep the numbers going down and the doors open!!

Sometimes it is just right thing to do for the good of "all people" not just the trampling of "someone's individual rights"!

The vaccine is available on island for those who wish to partake. Many are partaking, others our making cautious, conscious decisions.
The UK has said under 18s should not be vacinated. What are they looking at?
Over 50 in US and SXM pretty clear you should do it. Under 50, TBD.
And what is holding up final approval? What data dont they have? Or do they have?

That explains the use and purpose but what IS a Health Pass....how does a person get it....is it digital and if so is a paper copy of vaccination ok for acquiring it

It seems like the health pass isn’t really a “thing” but is just a description of having to provide one these three bits of data. France has an app for people vaccinated there, but for everyone else it seems like there are options.

The protest is not about the health pass (port). Anyone can get a health pass, it is an app showing that you do not have COVID 19, Vaccinated, unvaccinated, negative COVID 19 test or an antibody test from having CV19 and recovering would give you a health pass that allows you to go to restaurants, museums etc. The protest is about an overreach by Macron to control the people and take away the freedom, liberty and rights of one to live free. My body my choice will soon be either you take the vaccine or live in isolation.

Yes, it is your body and your choice. But the virus doesn't know that. Why can't people understand this is a VIRUS. It doesn't think or reason. It becomes more infectious as we try close in on it with our wonderful vaccines. The more people who run around unvaccinated the more they will pass this latest variant on to others who also chose not to get vaccinated, and that could include children who may not be able to get the vaccine on SXM yet. If you get cancer and decide not to get treatment (i.e., chemotherapy), that is your choice even if they tell you it is terminal. But, a highly infectious virus is a whole different scenario. This is no longer doing what is right for just you, but what is right for all if residents and visitors of St. Martin. Let them protest, but in the end my hope is that they will come to their senses and get vaccinated.

Because from everything I hear/know about the FDA--it takes YEARS to get something passed through them. Right now, there is not the time.

There is a reason why the FDA takes it’s time to get approval of drugs because it could have long term side effects 3 years into the clinical trials. We will not know what the side effects are till time passes but will questions our choices later on. The third to be President just had two staffers test positive and both were fully vaccinated. This is the trials of a MRNA vaccine that was given to 50% of Americans. We better prepare for what could happen because no one really knows the ramifications of this experimental product.
