Restaurants at Puerto Cupecoy - 09/05/2021 01:46 PM

What restaurants are at Puerto Cupecoy these days?? Are there any French restaurants there now? Do they have live music any nights? I'm talking about October here, so it could be some restaurants will be closed??

Rendez-Vous Lounge has music...jazz on Sunday afternoons and something on Friday nights, I think. Check the website.

Altra is offering a 3 course prix fix for $29.00 and find it to be a great value.
Last week we enjoyed sautéed calamari with potatoes and a beautiful tuna tataki for appetizers
entrees were pasta with salmon (maybe a $3.00 upcharge) and slow cooked beef cheek (tasted like stewed meat in a positive way) also beautifully presented
Deserts were a coconut chocolate mousse and a refreshing lemon custard with meringue
Service was friendly and the servers were actually hustling to provide good service

Rendezvous lounge has entertainment on Friday nights with alfredo on guitar accompanied with a drummer / keyboard (he plays both at the same time)
really enjoyed the music that we were thinking about hiring them next year when we rent a villa and have private chef cook dinner
played a Peter Frampton song and had me from there
The duo as plays at RV at the Sunday jazz brunch which has been mentioned several times in forum
the menu is varied but we always start with 2 tuna tar tars simply done with avocado
wife enjoyed Chilean sea bass while I enjoyed house made gnocchi in a carbonara sauce
the owner's dog follows her around while she works
If you dine early they do have have a happy hour with 1/2 price drinks

Mama's pizza was busy but menu seemed ordinary
I believe a Thai restaurant has taken over the old Marios

there is also another restaurant at the end closer to the docks a few steps down from the promenade

I have a two week review coming mostly about restaurants.
Not to be missed would be Le Pressior in Grand Case, a bit pricier but worth it, they are definitely a notch above and we do consistently frequently visit Le Cottage, La Villa, Bistro Caribes, Auberge Gourmand
Our second favorite restaurant was Jai's contemporary Indian cuisine in Simpson Bay, chef worked under one of your favorites Dino at Temptation / Rare but I think his food was better
Maybe overlooked is Astrolab in Orient with surf & turfs night and a lobster night all included in the 49 euro prix fix with live music
service was awesome and very thoughtful celebrating our anniversary

Maho Kid pretty much covered it. Mama gets packed and it’s always under staffed. We like the food. Where Mario’s was is Ginger 2, trying tonight. steveZ bar is always hopping and the new place “down below” looks very good but have not tried it.

We tried the new place “down below”in July and liked it. Can’t remember the name. They had just opened and several folks had recommended it. Good service, view and food. We would go back.
