You wouldn't know it by the crowds in Simpson Bay Saturday night, but overall it's quiet. As usual this time of year, pandemic aside.

Kim sent me a photo of Mullet and my first thought was where are all the people today? And my second was maybe they’re in Church giving thanks that this day - Sept. 6, isn’t an instant replay of Irma - four years ago today, right? And if it’s bad karma to mention that, please feel free to delete my whole post here.

Is Labor Day even a holiday on SXM??

I think there is a Labor Day on SXM. But not the same as ours. We were there for it one year - I’m thinking APRIL but it might have been November. It doesn’t take a lot of effort for the island to adopt another holiday to add to their already long list.

It's not a holiday here today. Yesterday Mullet was mobbed, as always on a Sunday. Almost impossible to navigate Rhine Rd. During the week, most beaches are nearly empty.
