It does if St. Martin was the last or near-last stop. Some of these 48 no doubt disembarked and mingled with the local population.

It was a huge ship. You think 48 out of over 6000 pax is a lot? Walking around a crowded mall this time of year is more risky. The media loves gloom and doom. It sells

Correct. I wonder what the spread would be if we still had something known as the "seasonal flu"? I bet it would be well over the less than 1% in this scenario.

48/6000 is a lot when you compare it to the numbers around the country. It amounts to about 800/100,000 people. The highest rate nationwide is 272/100,000 in Tompkins, NY according to the NYT. The ship would have three times the rate of the worst place in the country.

One is all it takes to spread COVID 19, Delta, Omicron or a seasonal flu. The point is it is spreading on fully vaccinated ships and this ship docked back in Miami and filled the ship again with new passengers for Mexico.
