Could someone please provide the best shore fishing locations on the island and how best to get set up with gear?

Either Oyster Pond, French Side, past captain' s Oliver, there is a path that takes you down to the very entry tip at sea of Oyster Pond Lagoon, or at Mullet Bay where the old old casino used to be, past hole 17. All depending on sea conditions

Not difficult to bring gear down if you bring a suitcase. Bought a telescoping rod that fits easily into a suitcase with the rest of the gear....none of which takes up a great deal of room.

Watch the French side - just make sure you are not in the “preserve”. My son in law caught something good size off Cupecoy, then something even bigger grabbed it!!!!!

Thank you for responses thus far. Saw fishermen on west side of Simpson Bay off rocks by wrecked boat and the point between Simpson and Burgeaux Bay. Are those consistently good places?

Never tried but I would not be surprised that the spot is a good one given the presence of caves and rock formations that could foster the presence of several species of fish. Oyster pond there could be a chance of catching some tarpoons or snooks(sergeant fish) which can deliver a good fight to bring them ashore, although tarpoon is more worth to release them. This of course fishing the waters on the inside part of the lagoon.

I often see fishermen on the rock getty on the point at Flamingo Resort. Not sure if it is really allowed.
