Finally Ready - 01/25/2022 04:13 PM

Wow finally ready to go, flying Friday direct from EWR on United. Submitted our EHAS this morning, my wife got her's in seconds, for whatever reason mine took a few hours. Exact same info. We have a JJ vaccine with a Phizer booster in Nov 2021. In case someone is in the same boat.

We are staying in a Airbnb near orient here https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/46850910?guests=1&adults=1 . We will need a car, which is a big change for us. We like to walk everywhere. I wish you could rent a golf cart for the Orient Village area. We plan to spend our days over at Club O, maybe a few at Happy Bay. Never been.

Must say this has been stressful Paying for a Airbnb with no refund without knowing if 100% guaranteed to get passed EHAS

Enjoy! Hope you are able to get to the French side OK.

You didn't buy trip insurance? We're renting a villa in April, 2023, and I purchased insurance as soon as we paid our deposit.

Tom--OK, hope you don't have any issues with road blockages tomorrow. It's always something, as Roseanne Roseanna Danna used to say!!

The photo's are beautiful, no doubt. In not one photo did I see an A/C unit!!!! Not one outside, or in the bedroom! This could be ok this time of year. It can get really cool at night. For the most part you'll be at the beach or one of the wonderful restaurants in the village! Have a great time!!

Re: Finally Ready - 01/28/2022 01:52 PM

David--Yes, I think the verbal description is wrong on that unit, but hopefully the original poster will be OK even without a/c. For me, it would be a problem, even this time of year.

Picture 22 shows the inside portion of a split a/c system, above the surfboards.

Ah ha! Good eyes! I guess that's what it is.

Re: Finally Ready - 01/29/2022 11:25 AM

Not for nothing!!! It's not even facing the inside of the room!! These people are going to have a hard way to go if a heat wave hits the island lol!!!! At $222.00 per night during high season, that's a great deal, maybe because there is only one A/C??? LOL!!! I'd take it!!!! Anything would be great down there, just to get out of this FREEZING snow weather!!!!
59 and a wake up!!!

I thought the listing said it was ventilated. We used to say, ventilated to the air outside! LOL
I did not see any ac unit, split or not.
Cheers

If everyone is so concerned with a/c or no a/c why not contact the owner of this rental? It really shouldn't matter if we are not the ones who have booked this unit.

Well, hopefully the original poster arrived on island on Friday, as scheduled, and he can put to rest this breathless question. ..That's a joke, folks!! Sorry I led the thread off the topic, but no reason for anyone to get too upset about it, one way or another. It's just a little message board..

Hope everyone is staying WARM today..

Hello Everyone,

We did get to the island and friday and loving our days at our Airbnb and Club O. The AC works wonderfully, this place is a million dollar view at a fraction of the price. The host is also wonderful. I will be sure to post a trip report when I get home.

Cheers!
